Hard to tell right now, but I definitely am a fan of the two 1sts!!

Think that some people would look back on this draft and think "how the hell did he go in the 3rd!!" lolol

B+ draft for the Rangers so far. Maybe A-.

I like what they have done. They got players that fit their ethos. Filip could easily have been a top 10 pick next year if he was a month older. Andersson is solid and safer than the similarly ranked players that went after him. Rangers don't take players that have skating issues, especially with their earlier picks.

That being said the draft board did not break kindly for them either. They had the 7th pick in a 6 player draft, (although the players that went 7-14 could have gone anywhere in that range). They just missed on Liljegren and Thomas at 21, (but I am not convinces the Rangers had Thomas over Filip on their board). I think this draft will only look better as time progresses, and as usual the Rangers will take their chances in later rounds on more boom/bust players.

Zhukov, Barratt, Farrance, Chekhovich, Vovchenko are my top five on the board right now.

We don't have a need for a goalie, but it would be great value for Zhukov here.
