How much of that do you think has to do with the extra rest though? They pitch once a week in Japan, and Tanaka had a few extra days between starts. I’d still go with Gray in Game 1 if they make it.

I agree that more rest is always better with Tanaka. I'm guessing they'd probably want him pitching on the road given his HR issues.

Gray, Tanaka, CC, Severino will likely be the order. I'm confident in the group with the dominant bullpen ready to take over at any time.
