Did Reese really fix the defense though? Defense hasn't looked very good this year.

Realisticly we have what 4 difference making players 13,20,21 & 98 out of 53.

If we get another top 10 pick and they let Reese make the pick it's a pretty bad investment.

The Reese track record, with Eli Apple looking worse and worse
The bad coaching by Ben last year
The bad start this year.
You look at 2 years ago and it looks like this year. So last year was likely the anomaly. Then look at the record post 2012 as well
Eli's contract
Salary cap space is slight
Pending UFAs including 2 best players
Defensive ends older and way over paid
Assume it's top 10 pick

To me, all these things = time for house cleaning. New GM, coach, & QB. Put Eli's money on 13 & 21. Take the cap hits of cutting overpaid vets u can. Do whatever it takes to get your guy at QB this draft.

Press the reset button Mr Mara

The Jets are a ridiculous franchise and every season is filled with awful, improbable and hilarious defeats. They can do nothing right. The fact that they've won two games and we're already talking about how "they can't even lose right" just goes to show how dysfunctional this bunch is. And to make it worse, we haven't won a Super Bowl in close to 50 years. I understand the frustration of Giants fans, but you guys, even through the bad seasons, have other better than the vast majority of other franchises.

I don't know much about NFL football outside of fantasy, but it seems to me that the Giants are just a terribly coached team. McAdoo is far too passive in all aspects of the game.

You have potentially the greatest WR of all time there and you should be slinging it to him all day long regardless of score, down, or distance. And never, ever lay off on defense.

Most NFL coaches are worse than NHL coaches when it comes to cowardice and sticking to what tradition, not math, says is the right play.

Yeah he is way too conservative but it's a fine line. I find Jason Garrett to be the total opposite..too aggressive. It remarkably hasn't burned Dallas yet in the postseason because they got away with his two stupid decisions like when they went for it on 4th and 4 from midfield vs Detroit in 2015 but it eventually will.

I feel like we have coalesced. I'm on board re: Reese, you're on board re: Eli.

This was never the offense for Eli. Yes he can read the defense well presnap but he doesn't have the accuracy to drive the YAC.

Eli has far outshined Reese though lol

The big thing was that the Coughlin era needed to end and all they changed was Coughlin. Which is understandable somewhat under the circumstances of the offense in 2015.

But if you look at everything since that magical 2011 season I just don't know how you let Jerry Reese decide the next QB and head coach for the next era. keeping him after this season with a top 10, maybe top 5 pick is basically handing him a 5 year extension. And what on earth would convince anyone that Benny could develop a QB.

Yuck, I just get more irritated the more I think about it.

Can't believe the Jets are sitting at 2-2 while the Giants are 0-4. Pretty unpredictable season so far.

Yeah I'd actually try to trade Pugh and DRC and even Marshall or Vereen at the deadline. Every draft pick helps. Maybe the pats terrible D could use Casillas back.

I think Pugh actually would have good value on trade market if he's healthy.

Very easily. They stole that win against Houston. Dropped INT could have sealed the deal but they gave Brady another chance and he made them pay.
Don't forget the brady fumble just before that. I still can't stop thinking about that game (would have won my suicide pool outright).

I really can't believe the Jets won two games and we are only 4 games into the season. I thought they would be lucky to go 2-14. I was actually looking forward to them tanking this year. Oh well. I guess we can toil in failure/mediocrity for many more years to come.

It's just incredibly frustrating watching the Giants these days. They did nothing to address any of their issues from last season. Reese didn't even attempt to bolster the o line. I mean, what was the plan? Just hope that guys would take a quantum leap in their development? McAdoo is just exasperating the problem with his playcalling.

The O Line wasn't really a problem in yesterday's game. Eli had time, and Gallman was able to bust some runs. What did the Giants in yesterday was other garbage:

1. Inopportune dropped passes
2. Giving up big plays (Apple vs. Evans, Brate vs. Collins, Goodson losing Howard)
3. Brad Wing
4. Needing to call a timeout on a two-point conversion
5. Wasting a timeout on a bad challenge
6. Garbage officiating on the Giants two-point conversion

They have Cleveland coming up and will have a very good chance at coming out of that 3-2, which is f***ing nuts. I thought they'd win 3-4 games, MAX. The rest of their schedule is really hard though and they'll be underdogs in every game, barring some continued bizzaro-world shit. If they finish with 4 wins they'll still probably have a shot at a top QB, given that 4 wins last year was the fifth pick. If they somehow manage 5 wins, all bets are f***ing off. Then I guess you pursue Kirk Cousins, haha.

You can have Alex Smith for a 2nd

The only thing wrong with the defense was a complete inability to stop two minute offense in key situations.

To me, that's coaching.

I assume you mean for almost free? No one will trade for him unless it’s for pennies. The whole world knows he will be gone next year.
Plenty of shit teams will be looking for stability at QB and Smith provides that in spades.

Regardless of where he goes I'm confident we'll get a decent pick for him. Maybe not a second but not pennies.
