so glad we don't need one of these this year...

how about, "We don't have a 1st rounder, because we traded it to deepen our playoff run".... probably needs some work...

"Who needs the first when the trade scored the winner and won us the cup"

I am an optimist. :sarcasm:

Jesper Boqvist is a player to keep an eye on for this draft. He played 8 games for Brynäs in SHL last year. Only noted an assist but played well and was a +2. Otherwise he spends his time dominating in J20. He scored 58 points in 38 games in the Swedish SuperElit league (juniors, up to age 20), which made him second in the league in scoring behind Lias Andersson (another name to watch, of course).

I'm not able to watch any J20-hockey so I can't speak for the quality of that league, but from the small sample of Boqvist in SHL last year I say this kid is going places. He reminds me a lot of Calle Järnkrok. It's going to be interesting to see if he puts up Järnkrok numbers in the men's league once he's part of that roster full time.

Is it too early for this?
I went to the Steelheads game last Sunday, Owen Tippet would be an awfully nice fit on this team. kid sure knows how to put the puck in the net.

In regards to Nolan Patrick, I don't see how anyone is going to knock him out of that number one spot.

It remains to be seen how good 2017 draft will be but unless there is an absolutely elite goal scorer available we need a Dman--either side but preferably left--in the worst way.

You want goal-scorer right?
What do you like this kid?

Put Tolvanen together with Eichel or Reinhart and enjoy.

Is Robin Salo the son of Sami Salo? It seemed like every trade deadline, he was rumored to come here so we can now finally get a Salo.

Bold prediction, we're similar to Florida in 2015. A year out from being super good but the potential's there. We're gonna draft 11th, book it.

I see them going after one of the Finnish players. Vesalainen or Heiskanen in particular. If Kane is dealt for defense, I would assume Vesalainen. The nice thing about the Euro's is that you can bring them to Rochester immediately, like we've done with Nylander since he was on loan to CHL from Europe.

The Swiss kid from Halifax has looked quite good from what I've heard. I'll see a moose heads game in January

I haven't seen him play, but based off what I've seen online he looks really good. He kinda looks a bit like Draisaitl too me. I'd like us to get a pure finisher like Tolvanen or a legit defensive stud.
