@aaronadmirals
@mkeadmirals have claimed former Grand Rapids & @UWBadgers Mark Zengerle off waivers. Was playing in Sweden this year.

Zengerle had been released by his SHL club after being limited to one assist in 9 nine games.

In order to come back to the AHL, Zengerle had to sign a SPC (see the "Andrew Yogan rule'') and go through waivers.

As posted by Tao Jones, Matt Carey has left the Griffins for a Swedish team.

Carey had registed a goal and an assist in 8 contests before leaving for Europe.

Gahagen signs with Barracuda. (Friedman had long section in his weekly "31 Thoughts" on his situation) On the long list for Olympics, so couldn't (yet) sign with Sharks.

Cleveland signed PTO Brady Austin.
Confirmed by team.

He's practicing with the team but I'm not sure if he's allowed to play for now.

The Army allowed Gahagen to briefly join the Sharks for their development and rookie camps this summer. After achieving World Class Athlete status, he joined their minor-league team in San Jose last week. He's on an amateur tryout contract, made necessary since Gahagen can't collect paychecks from both the team and military.

It hasn't been posted on theahl.com yet but Anthony Greco (Springfield) and Angelo Miceli (Milwaukee) have presumably been released from their AHL SPCs.

According to Renaud Lavoie, Greco has been signed to a NHL contract for the remainder of the season.

Miceli has signed with the Italian club of Bolzano of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. Miceli's ECHL rights had recently been traded from Norfolk to Atlanta. He only played one game for Atlanta before leaving for Italy. In 13 ECHL games this season, Miceli scored 4 goals and 9 assists.

It was "unofficially" announced back in October.

Also, as I've mentioned in an earlier post, any player who started the season or played in Europe at some point in the season has to sign a SPC in order to get back to the AHL. (Asuchak played 6 games in Slovakia before joining the Barracuda's organisation)
------------------------------------------
In other news, the IceHogs have recalled Radovan Bondra from Indy.

Bondra was limited to one goal in 11 games in the ECHL. It might be a normal recall but I have a feeling that Bondra might be headed to the WHL or Europe soon.
