I'd absolutely love JVR and I'd easily move a first+ for him

Excellent player who's top 3 in the league infront of the net, fast and can score goals. Lawd knows we need that type of player in our top 6.

This is after we try Dzingel there.

we need a top 6 LW quick

Dorion's gotta work some magic...I just have no idea who..

JVR, Rackell, Kane, Rieder, Yakupov, Marleau...or someone from Tampa/Detroit

Really don't think this team needs to acquire a top 6 forward to replace MacArthur. All we have to do is plug Dzingel into MacArthur's spot. Kid was on pace for 20-30 points playing on the 4th line. Put him beside Brassard and Ryan and he'll produce 30-40 points easy. While it's about 10-20 points less than we can expect from MacArthur, not to mention Dzingel's two-way game isn't as good as MacArthur's, it's not enough of a difference to warrant overpaying to acquire a replacement LW. We don't have the assets to do it after trading our 2nds for the next two seasons, nor do we have the money to add a top 6 forward with MacArthur's contract (apparently) being uninsured.

The question isnt who can we put into the top 6 to not look out of place, its who we need in the top 6 to build a contending team.

If Mac is out long term, we need a legit top 6 addition. Dzingel can play 4th line. Its time for this organization to start being more pessimistic about the team, optimism on how good players are or how well they will fill a certain role has gotten us 1 playoff series win in 9 years. **** playing it safe, theres no getting around it.. If we want to contend and we have lost Macarthur - pony up and get the best top 6 winger you possibly can.

Contending team? Meh, plug Dzingel in there and if the team is playing very well to the point where 1 more top 6 forward will make a big difference then acquire whoever around December. Not now.

boro all day everyday...fml

Bartkowski was absolutely horrible last night too. No commitment to winning from this organization to its fans. The sens have no one that can play top 4 minutes when there is an injury and the guys that are set to play on the third pair are really barely NHLers. Well really Barkowski and Boro are not nhl regular players and one of them is going to play no matter what injury or not.

Gonna be a long year.

Hopefully Boucher is able to see that Claesson-Wideman is our best option as a bottom pair.

Also, there's still the off chance that Russell signs here.

Management certainly will not pay Russel if they wont pony up a million for a guy holding his own against team Canada.

This organization is a joke.

At least we have a solid top 4, but it looks like our bottom pair is going to be hot garbage all season again.

Between all top 4 D men they will miss atleast 50 games this year barring some unbelievable luck. You need a guy that can play in the top 4 if there is an injury.

There is no evidence that suggested Dorion wouldn't pony up. Dreger confirmed that there were 7 teams in on Seidenberg including Ottawa and all of them were waiting until after the world cup to make an offer. The Islanders just decided to immediately offer a contract instead.

So the real problem is that he waited too long to actually offer a contract just like 6 other teams did, not that he wouldn't spend the money.

The thing I find so frustrating about this board is that so many assumptions are made without any proof to back it up. Who's to say we wouldn't pay Seidenberg what he wanted? According to Dreger there were 7 teams interested in him. But still, that won't stop the negative nancies and Debbie downers from complaining we're not committed to winning.

Gets old man.

Either way they blew it. I dont see the difference clearly other teams are going to want the player he is playing awesome.

Losing gets old, so does the pro scouting department blowing it again. Whats the difference for the reason? The orgnization has a glaring hole and could have filled it cheap. Now once there is an injury this teams d core which was one of the worst in the NHL last year giving up an outrageous amount of shots and scoring chances is going to have the same issues. What i get tired of is the excuses everyone makes around here when the results have been garbage.

you really think that's how it went down? Seidenberg had 7 teams interested in him and instead of waiting 1 more day for the tournament to end to pick from a group of teams...he instead just took the first offer?

How did the blow it? I guess by that logic 6 other teams that were interested in him blew it too. Only one team can get the player. Just because we didn't get him doesn't mean we didn't try, and just in case you don't know, the player makes the final decision on where he plays.
