I by no means think I'm an expert on this topic, which is exactly why I'm leaving it to the boards, everyone chipping in should provide something accurate enough.

My projection for the 2016 Kings is that we do not retain any of Williams, Stoll, or Regehr. I think Williams' agent will ask for too much and I think Lombardi will look to replace the latter two from the inside. I think Weal or Shore will be called up for the 4C spot. I could see Richards being moved but i wouldn't give it any certainty. I also don't think Voynov will be back.

What do you guys think the roster will look like?

I think there is a 115% chance that Williams is back. Regher is gone and Stoll won't be back unless he takes a big paycut to around 2MM a year.

I'd say it depends on the cap..... Williams will probably get a deal like Gaborik where he gets paid for 2-3 years and signs a 7 year deal (that he isn't expected to finish) to buy down the AAV.....

Regehr... with all the new contracts handed out on D it was looking like he's gone... but now with the Voynov situation he may stick around another year..... Regehr/Martinez is just about as good as anything out there the Kings could trade for.... maybe signing Boychuck in the offseason and running Martinez/Boychuck would be great, until the Islander resign him.

Richards/Stoll.. I think this one comes down to the cap and how much the team can afford....

The Kings do have some good prospects at this point that will be nice to see if anyone makes the jump.... and there will be lots of entertainment with the next installment of the Prokhorkin legal drama

Mike Richards won't be on the roster; he'll either ask to be traded or be run out of town by a number of HF posters. "They'll" get rid of Richards over Stoll, given the way Sutter favours one over the other, either by buy-out or trade. Of course, a lot depends on how this year goes. I'm getting a different feeling this season over the past 3 and if, by chance, the Kings do not make the play-offs, then all bets are off as to players left on the roster for 2016.

The biggest challenge is going to be repairing the second pairing, but I expect that to get done this year and soon...so I'm not comfortable projecting anything until then.

According to the radio broadcast last night the Kings and Williams have started negotiations on a new contract. All NHL teams have been informed that the projected cap for next season will be $73M.

Williams has instructed his agent that things need to get done quickly or he will suspend negotiations as he does not want them to be a distraction for him throughout the season.

My guess is Williams wants a deal done by early January.

I like Richards. Him and Williams are two of my favorite players all time. I just think the time has come to move on. Sutter doesn't trust him and he doesn't seem to care anymore. Either that or he just doesn't have it anymore. If JDub will take a discount to stay, perfect, if not, go get paid dude you deserve it and were a consummate King. Same with Stoll. Though he'd need a pay cut. King and Clifford make too much for what they actually bring imo. I'd move them too. Regehr, thanks for the Cup, adios. The Kings need some heavy players who are hungry to win. Unfortunately they're not available. A Simmonds our Lucic would be ideal for Kopitar's line. Gaborik-Kopitar-Lucic/Simmonds? Forget about it. A defenseman to replace the possibly soon to be deported Voynov is an absolute must. Doughy plays too much as it is. He needs help. Unfortunately that's going to cost assets as well with how barren the free agent crop is this off-season.

Dean definitely has his work cut out for him.

LOL. I'm sure Mike Richards gives a flying **** about what's posted on HF. Also a buy out would have huge long-term cap implications. The same could occur via trade if Richards ever retired before the contract ended.

I expect Stoll will be gone unless DL/DS think his FO ability and locker room presence is to much to lose. I doubt it though for what Stoll is getting paid, and I think if he is expected to take a big pay cut he'll just test UFA first.

I expect Williams to be back, I expect Regehr to walk, though that could change if Voynov is good for next year too as I doubt they will want that much turn over on the back end.

My thinking is Stoll, Regher and Voynov will be gone by way of a numbers game (Cap and AHL specs knocking on the door). Shore is up, Regher retires, McNabb takes his place and Forbort gets the call as the teams 6/7 D. Voynov's cap number goes to Kopitar and Williams. Deans philosophy has always been to continue to get younger and better, these moves allow the trend to continue.

The Kings are in a good position regardless of what many think. Dean is in the driver's seat and the Kings drafting has been very good. I'm excited to see this team transform over the next few years. May need to supplement a few pieces via trades, but otherwise things are looking really great. I still say our core is the best in the league.

Richards or Stoll will be gone and likely replaced with Shore, exactly whom it remains to be seen. Sutter seems to prefer Stoll, and Stoll is admittedly not playing awful and benefiting from our winger depth. A discounted extension is possibly in the cards, similar to Greene's. Richards has been better by my reckoning, but his current role buries him. Moving him would yield a decent enough return for what we need done to the roster. There are benefits to keeping either player.

Williams has turned it around nicely of late, I figured he was (sadly) almost certainly a goner, but if management is keen on keeping him then they already have plans in motion and I'm not too concerned. Again, a Greene-esque deal.

Regehr has been solid. But this offseason if we have the cap space and opportunity to upgrade the 2nd pairing we should by all means do so.

Sign the players you want to keep. Wait for the salary cap to force your hand, and perhaps that's when you unload someone like Richards.

I'll give it a shot:

Gaborik--Kopitar--Carter
Pearson--Vey--Toffoli
Brown--Richards--Williams
Clifford--Shore--Lewis
Andreoff, Sabourin, *Prokhorkin

Muzzin--Doughty
Martinez--K. Miller
McNabb--Greene
Forbort, Voynov (still on LTIR do to trial)

Quick
Jones

Williams signs for $9m for 2 years ($4.5m a year)
Kopitar signs for $57.75m for 7 years ($8.25m a year) for 2016 season
King to Boston for K. Miller and picks
Nolan to Vancouver for Vey (Kings undue a mistake)
Weal for a 2nd
*Prokhorkin is called up near Christmas break for scoring with Sabourin sent down.

Save money and keep spots open for kids.

There is no way I would trade weal and bring back vey. Weal IMO is better on both ends of the ice. Every Vancouver game I've watched, his d position makes me cringe.

I like weal but I don't think there is a spot for him and he'll be gone like Vey. I don't think Vey will come back (just hopes) but the super AHL Pearson--Vey--Toffoli line would be nice to see.

Not going to list the signings and what not, but imagine everyone gets locked up.

Toffoli or Pearson, King, and Clifford for Lucic and Miller. (I wish)
Williams and Stoll take sweatheart deals to stay.
Regehr walks.
Voynov is deported. :(
