Judging by several rankings that I just looked over, the only pick that seems like a bit of a stretch is Lafontaine. All others seem to be good or fair value at the spot taken.

I think their preference for the NCAA route speaks to how strongly they felt about Bean at #12. Had a bunch of NCAA and NCAA bound talent (Bellows, Kunin, McAvoy, Fabbro) and they chose a WHL D who was undrafted in the CHL.
