Well, we are discussing it before 1 player is even drafted and without knowing who the Canes like and don't like, so kinda hard to say "it's a pretty good deal" in a vacuum.
I think we all agree. If there's someone there they like, they won't likely trade it. If the guys on their list that they like are gone and they think they can get a similar value at 27, then sure, why not. The problem might be though, is that at that point, TBL might not see the need to move up either, of course it would depend on who THEY like.
I'd much rather move down if our main targets are gone instead of having another Paradis-type situation.
Yeah, but those aren't the only 2 options. Paradis was a bad pick, plain and simple. It wasn't like they took the guy who was 27th rank and took him at 21. He was a huge reach. I trust this management group to not do something like that, even if the guys they want at 21 are gone. If the main targets are gone, sure, move down if possible, but even if they are unable to move down, I don't see a Paradis type pick.
