.....and speaking of Luke Schenn.....

I don't remember reading about him being signed. Is he still available? At times, he made some very, very good plays out there. At other times, his positioning was WAY off.

Luke Schenn is unsigned. I don't know if any team wants to have a defenseman on the ice who constantly screens his own goalie and is oblivious of where to be inside his own blueline.

ha ha.....that was 2 hours sleep sorry. Should be reversed. Sorry for the confusion.

No confusion, more like when people put 2/7/16 when they're talking about July 2nd, 2016, instead of 7/2/16. Same thing, just switched around. No problem, just curious was all.

I know we already have too many defenseman, but I'd feel a hell of a lot better if we signed someone like Wisniewski to a 2-3 year deal for relatively cheap...

Which is the same base reason coaches will usually play the veteran over the young guy. They feel better doing it, yet every fan rips every coach for doing it.

I don't understand where this comes from. Sutter gave time to Muzzin, Voynov, Pearson, Toffoli, Shore, all because they earned it. What makes you think he won't do the same for Gravel and Forbort? It's all on Gravel and Forbort. They don't have a lot of stuff competition, either.

Like with most things, if people get a narrative in their head, it's tough to let go. Even before Sutter got here, what were we all thinking? This guy is a disciplinarian, he's going to come in here and crack some skulls. What happened? Not quite that. He's giving guys encouragement on the bench, or doing this...

Is Trotman on a two way deal?

I think it's one way, but one or two way only matters in terms of how much they get paid depending which team they're on. His cap hit is low enough that if he's in Ontario, he's not going to count against the cap.

Who else is just glad the Kings didn't overpay for some of these guys? That Backes signing man. Lol

A lot of these contracts are flat out stupid. Paying Ladd that much for so many years. These guys are going to slow down before they reach their mid 30s, and some are already there, like Backes, who is already showing signs of slowing down.

Dean is smart, let these dummies overspend, they'll be forced to try to get rid of contracts eventually.

Let's not pretend Dean didn't just try to sign Lucic to an 8 year deal for 4.5 million or whatever. He was right there in the stupid spending category, but was thankfully outbid.

But fact remains he didn't, and on some level, he is probably relieved it didn't workout.

I think we'll all be a lot be more comfortable giving a 25 year old Toffoli 8 years (even if at $7M+) next summer.

I think he knew Lucic wouldn't accept that, not only for the dollar amount but I am pretty sure Dean also would't give Lucic the ridiculous NMC that Chiarelli gave him.

My good pal @BizNasty2point0 has signed with the AHL Ontario Reign, farm team of LAK. Congrats, Biz. Can't keep a good (1985 born) man down.

It's about to get interesting. (sarcasm)

It was a savvy move to run the price up on a division rival. :naughty:

Good for Biznasty! Had the pleasure of meeting him last summer at a department store in Beverly Hills and was really cool.

I always have a soft spot for the swell guys. Same with Luke Schenn. Met him in Malibu over a the all star break and was a really nice guy who made his wife wait while he talked to me about the Kings. Hope he catches on somewhere.

i'm sure you copy pasted the bolded part from McNabb's wiki page

Luke Schenn has been doing just that since he was with Toronto and Philly.

At least McNabb has shown something about his game that may hopefully turn into something.

Whereas Schenn is too stupid to figure things out, like not to block your goalies field of view.

Purcell - Kopitar - Gaborik
Pearson - Carter - Toffoli
King - Lewis - Brown
Clifford - Shore/Andreoff - Nolan/Latta
Mersch
Dowd
Kempe

Muzzin - Doughty
Martinez - Gilbert
McNabb - Trotman
Greene
Scuderi
Gravel
Forbort

Quick
Zatkoff
Budaj
Campbell

well... depth isn't an issue at least

but my God, what a roster lol

I'm surprised Hudler and Vrbata haven't been signed. I know their play dropped off, but they are still worth $2 million on a short contract. I wouldn't mind getting either of them for our top 6 and playing Purcell on the third line.

agreed!

id sign both Hudler & Vrbata and trade away King & Clifford

Apparently nobody wanted Vrbata at the deadline. King can give the Kings 13 goals next year. What does Hudler do that Purcell doesn't?

only if u put him in top 6 and if u put him in top 6 he needs to produce more then 13 goals imo

Well I'm sure guys will go through slumps, or get hurt here and there, or Sutter will change lines to change things up, or just to piss off fans, but ok, if he gets 5 goals on a "top 6" line, and 8 goals somewhere else during 82 games, they all count.

Purcell - Kopitar - Gaborik
Pearson - Carter - Toffoli
Mersch - Dowd - Brown
Andreoff - Lewis - Latta
Shore as the extra forward who get in against the less heavy teams
Nolan starts on IR

Muzzin - Doughty
Martinez - Folin
McNabb - Trotman
Forbort

Quick
Zatkoff

Move King and Gilbert for Folin and a pick. Mersch take King's spot. Trade or buyout Greene. Scuderi to Ontario to help the kids ala Schultz. Gravel starts in Ontario but gets to be the first call up. Trade Clifford for a 2nd or a 3rd.

Going to play some NHL 16 and see what happens!

To add to this, I think Dean kept the cap hit low to ensure a managable buyout in case Lucic drops off a cliff in year 6 of the contract. Even if we had the space, I don't think DL offers him 6x8 under any circumstances.

yes they all count but he will only score 13 goals if hes playing with carter or kopitar as his center I doubt he sore more than 3 with lewis dowd shore etc
