Sportsnet is terrible.

You don't expect Kadri to hit like that? Kadri is freaking amazing at catching players and delivering massive hits.

I remember some amazing hits by Kadri in a single game against Eller/Gallagher/Emelin. He hits hard.

Kadri's been a big hitter since junior. SNO has to put an end to their "hire an idiot" campaign.

Komarov is just so good. One of the few good things Nonis did. He should be a leader on the team a long time. Great player.

He used to get sooo many useless retaliation penalties. Now it seems he's the one drawing them.

Best thing about Dion this year is the amount of interference he's running ahead/behind the play. Nobody giving this guy credit for stepping infront of guys nudging doing what it takes behind the scene to shape the future play.

Dion deserves some love.

LOL the Ducks board is so mad
i just checked it out for a second to see, and found this to make me smile...

When Toronto's D has the puck, they always have several options. When we do, our forwards are rarely in position to receive a good pass.

guess that's the Babcock effect?

Who was the ****** that pushed PAP back down after he scored the goal? Just lost a lot of respect for the Ducks.

I'm pretty sure they lost a lot of respect for the Leafs too if you look at their GDT thread.

I would listen on every player outside of Rielly. I want hard to play against players though...Drouin is good but he's just another shiny toy. I don't want to be like Edmonton where we collect a bunch of soft stars who can put up points on the PP but suck at winning hockey games.

Time to think big and acquire core players who are tough to play against if we make big trades. I'll just be happy if we trade guys like PAP, Matthias, Boyes etc and get some young players in there.

PAP is easily worth a 2nd. He's a great top 9 player...smart player, great shot.

Babcock talked today - they aren't even mentioning playoffs to players or anything. (THAT could be coach speak but who knows) but he stressed that Hunts, Lou, and Shanny and he are commited to the overall organizational plan.

it really wouldn't surprise me if 1/2 the reason why we're so quiet is that we're gonna be really aggressive via trades etc (again look at cap friendly/general fanager: we barely have a line up past next year). not ALL the Marlies are going to make the team. i think a lot of our picks will be in play (not like out right giving them away) but to get more lowerish picks, but get better players involved).

I really know zip about Drouin. but i guess he's not a physical-talented-ish player.

basically what i am saying is that Babcock said pain is coming,
look at our roster now - and our financial commitments, and obviously we're gonna hit a dark patch.

let's just play well and ensure that Rielly, and whomever else stays feel "good" and not useless - and trust Hunter etc to find more Timas etc.

Anaheim were angry from the first puck drop

I mean there wasn't anything to be angry about yet, and they were already angry

Ya he isn't going anywhere, this guy is exactly the kind of person we need to establish a strong hard working "culture" in this team

The beauty of Babcock, is he takes guys like say Holland, and somehow gets their confidence back to when they were say a BEAST in the OHL or heck ever prior to that, and gets them playing back to that confidence level.

Perhaps this Blashill is similar to Babcock and that is why we aren't seeing a big time swoon in Detroit.

But Babcock creates quite an effect on your players. Every dud on our team except Lupul has totally bought into this guy and his concepts.

I think Lupul is stunned and afraid he might have to play some playoff games. But he is being smart in playing okay, but not well enough to get traded out of Toronto. He clearly wants to stay here.

:nono:

I don't think you're allowed to insinuate Dion is a smart player in any way.

He's a big dumb Pylon who only takes bad penalties and his 40-50 points he'll score this year are all luck.

Wouldnt make the top pair on any other team amirite?

I agree. These are the types of players Babcock is talking about when he says maintain a safe environment. This allows you to work in a Nylander in a successful transition.
Look at Taylor Hall's comments. A little resentment for the organization rushing them into maybe not the ideal situation.

Lupes is being used as a defensive foreword  I have pretty much figured out how he has structured the forwards and d-men

This, to me, indicated that Babcock is clear in the direction of the team and that he understands when the Leafs sell off players from the roster it'll be for the long term gain.
