We won't be like Edmonton regardless. Shanahan and co. won't allow that. But with a win tonight, we're theoretically picking 9th. That doesn't bode well for a draft that could be one of the main contributors to us being legitimately competitive in the future.

I'll bet Hunter, Dubas and the gang don't even worry about that. A top pick would just be a bonus. The aim is to find gems like Timashov throughout the draft, and I'll bet they are confident that they can do it. The whole draft is opportunity to build the prospect pool, not just the top picks.
