Solid. Good stuff. Once again could give some of the top teams a run for their money.

I'll try to make a new version :D

I'm very curious about defense and goaltending. Will Bokroš take all three goalies outside of the project? Will he take only two Dmem from the project? I highly doubt it.
I would like to see one of Solenský or Roman there too, but that's unlikely.

Milos Roman is too young. He must show something special, to be in team. Dont forget. Its a U20 tournament. And he is only 15. Next year.

And i think, as 3. goalie he will take David Hrenak from his team. Huska will be out.

It's way too early in the seson to tell but tbh it wouldn't shock me if Bokros takes both Skorvanek and Hrenak to the WJC with only one non project goalie. It seemed to me that u18 team coaches prefered Huska over Tomek in this, but u20 coaches might be of a different opinion.

Also, looking at your roster it includes 13 players outside of the u20 team (well okay Hatala, Studenic and Bucek can come to play a few games prior WJC to the team as some othe Extraliga regulars have done in the past) and 10 underagers including 2 double underagers.

Also the queston is will someone have to make room for the likes of Jendroľ and Galis?

If the younger Roman didn't get a chance to play at the u18s last year it seems unlikely that he would get it at the WJC this year. I suppose that both him and Solensky would only stand a chance to make it were they playing in the HK Orange team or something.

I did not like Ivanič much for the u20 team so far tbh. It would be interesting to see Martin Bodák who had a good Ivan Hlinka get a chance but once again a double underager and also chose Finnish juniors over the home projects.

It's almost safe to say you can count Rantanen out of Team Finland's lineup as he seems to be making the Avalanche team with flying colors. This saddens me a little, but then again Finland managed to win the WJC without Barkov, Maatta and Kapanen in 2014, so anything can happen. I'm super stoked for Rantanen, but I still would have hoped he'd be able to dress for Team Finland on home ice.

I think this post accidentally ended up here instead of the Finland thread :D

So, the list of players Bokros is supposedly counting with:

Dávid Hrenák (HK Orange 20) 1998
Stanislav Škorvánek (obaja HK Orange 20)
Adam Húska (Green Bay Gamblers – USHL) 1997
Matej Tomek (Univerzita North Dakota – USHL) 1997

Michal Roman from Trinec should be considered. He played already some games in senior Extraliga and has a good junior history behund him ...

Lots of talent this year! I would say top 3 "finnish" is expected :P

Please, be realistic. :shakehead
If we make it to 1/4 finals, thats ok. There were many "good" teams in last few years, but almost always their find out, that other teams are even better.

Who do you think will be the highest drafted Slovak? (2016)

Solenský is skilled enough to be the highest drafted Slovak, but he is only 176cm high, so I expect him to drop to the 5th round. LeÅ¡ťan have some games in SHL and CHL, he has good size and will probably play at the WJC so scouts can take a better look at him.
This will be another weak draft for us. :(

Solenský has very good numbers, playing PPG in u20 league. Never heard of Leštan, but if he got the chance in SHL, he has to be good. What do you think of Michal Roman? Defenseman who has 7 points in 12 matches in u20 league. Seems pretty solid to me.

This will be another weak draft for us. :(

I think you could at least keep it around that 5 draftees like last year.
But anyway there's always something to look forward to and in your place it's Milos Roman (Michal's brother) That guy could be one of the better players in 2018 draft, he has great numbers in u20. He is 16 years old.

Oh yes, totally forgot about him and Dušan Kmec (Örebro J18). Roman has actually 12 points in 14 games now, I saw him only at Hlinka Memorial and one junior game, but he looked alright, definitely has a chance to be drafted.

2017 and 2018 will be the best drafts in recent years for us. 2017 - Bodák, Buček, Čacho, Hrehorčák, KrivošÃk, Lacka, Ružička, Studenič (Hedera, Galbavý, Köver, Korenčík,...) and 2018 - Roman, Fehérváry, Čederle, Liška, ...

We got little offtopic, so there is my last but one roster (not my ideal roster, but how I think Bokroš will do it):

Pospíšil - Sukeľ - Bondra
Lešťan - Šiška - Studenič
Milý - Surový - Paločko
HrušÃk - Holešinský - Briestenský/Galis
(not a lot to choose from, but I'd definitely take Solenský or young Roman as middle six center and maybe Buček too)

Maier - Černák
Sloboda - Jaroš
Koch - Romančík
Meliško - Ivanič
(in my ideal roster, there would be at least Roman and maybe Bodák or Hatala)

Húska
Škorvánek
Hrenák
(Tomek is still recovering from surgery, but he should play by the end of the month, if he will look good, bring him over to Helsinki)

Agreed. Quarterfinals are the goal. Anything better is exceeding expectations and will be a pleasant surprise.

I'm little surprised that Marian Studenic is not in camp roster. Maybe next year then.

Is Tomek still injured?

Yep, the offense is very weak this year and Studenic would be a welcome addition.

Is Tomek still injured?
He's recovering from surgery, has been training on his own for couple of weeks now, but he doesn't feel 100% yet. With good performances by Johnson and Hrinkyw, they don't want to rush Tomek.
Next year we will have Tomek and Huska, probably the best goaltending duo ever for Slovakia (on paper).

I'm quite satisfied with the camp roster. Studenič and maybe Michal Roman (D) should be there, but nevermind...

I think they will cut Pavlas, Moravčík, Ivanič, Tatár, Ondruš/Sádecký and Huňa, so the lines will be:

Bondra - Sukeľ - Pospíšil
Milý - Šiška - HrušÃk
Lešťan - Solenský - Paločko
Surový - Ondruš/Sádecký - Briestenský

Maier - Černák
Sloboda - Jaroš
Meliško - Romančík
Koch - Hatala

Húska
Škorvánek
Hrenák

So Tomek won't represent Slovakia in this tournament?

Studenic was in Orange team for some games. And i saw an interview with Bokros and he said, that Studenic is not ready for such tournament. According to Eliteprospect, he is 179 cm / 5'10" WEIGHT 62 kg / 137 lbs. He is not Martin Reway.

Maybe he isn't Reway, but we lack offensive players. As a 17 year old, he has done some pretty impressive things in our senior league. IMO he deserved the spot, mainly when we consider the fact that this year's offense is really weak.

Huska and Pavlavs will be the two main netminders. With a member of the U20 team that plays in the Slovak League coming as the third goalie.
