A crazy game so far! Canada looking like they're in control now after taking grabbing up the momentum

Not watching but could this be another huge choke job by the U.S? Reminds me of the Olympics. Down 5-2, now tied 5-5 WOW!

The US was all over Canada in the 1st out shooting them almost 3 to 1.

Since then it's either been pretty even or Canada taking the play to them.

How experienced is the USA squad? This is pretty good for Canada considering how inexperienced they are.

US speed results in Canadian player pulling down a US player. Penalty to Canada.

goal for US 7-5 American speed is impressive

All in all good showing for the young girls. I'll say it again but having 10 new players is a huge turnover of talent. Very green and inexperienced. U.S is full marks for their gold. This will be a good experience for the girls heading into next year and then leading up to 2018 Olympics. For me personally it's all about the Olympics that's where the fruit of their labour will shine through.

I agree. I thought the US would dominate this game through 3 periods.
Canada has played pretty good.

Finally a penalty to US, too late though.

Congrats USA, very fast team, deserved the win.

Not sure why Canada doesn't put more emphasis on skating and speed.
Not just a problem with the women but seems with mens juniors too.

I don't know, maybe the fact that skating speed doesn't win you Olympic Gold Medals as proven in the last 4 Olympics.

:help:

Eh, no big deal. As long as Canada keeps dominating at the highest level when it matters the most (Olympics) I don't mind the World Championship and World Junior mediocrity.

My feelings exactly when it comes to the men and women at the World Championships. Congrats to USA, but when it matters the most at the Olympics, those results tell the story of who exactly is on top.

Think USA gals have a bit of an advantage in non Olympic years, cause their players are heavily concentrated in the North East, whereas ours are geographically much more spread out. We hothouse them in Calgary in preparation for OG and that Yankee advantage dissipates by the time the most prestigious Tourney starts.

Truth is, we've lagged behind them in non OG years for quite a while now, so our gal's winning WC's is getting fewer and further between.
