I'm not sure what the odds of the suspension being reduced are, but teams will get players to appeal to time their suspension for when it benefits them the most.

For example, the Jays might drop the appeal and let him serve the suspension when Buehrle, Dickey and Price are supposed to pitch when the bullpen probably won't be taxed too much.
