What would it take from Pittsburgh to get Foligno? I am assuming no current assets as they are all in right now. Crosby and Malkin aren't getting any younger.

Seeing how they are division rivals way more than they'd be willing to deal.

Id start with Maata, 2015 1st, 2016 1st + thats if theres no real roster players involved (i know Maata is but hes the only one who would be worthwhile and realistic )

Maybe Pouliot

Foligno being a trade target shouldn't even be talked about at this point. The guy who tweeted that has no credibility/sources. None. Whatsoever. That's a guy who calls himself a writer for the Pens, trying to get more followers by tweeting something Ludicrous.

And for you people who are even replying and thinking about what Foligno would be worth, it's irrelevant. I'm sorry but this has me heated.... while we are at it, what would it take for Stamkos to leave Tampa Bay? or Tavares to leave NYI? or Getzlaf/Perry out of Anaheim? or Zach Parise out of Minnesota?..... you get the point.

Someday, this no name twitterer from Pittsburgh will brag to his grandkids that he was famous on the CBJ HF forum for a couple hours.

So http://twitter.com/helenenothelen reports that CBJ are scouting Anaheim again tonight.

I got in a spat with Rob Mixer and some other guy on this point with them trying to argue scout appearances had nothing to do with the trade deadline. No reason to scout a team you don't play remainder the rest of the year otherwise. Particularly on the other side of the country. In the other conference. With no chance we will meet in playoffs.

Wiz to Anaheim is definitely something I could see happening. Wonder if they are on his list.

Wiz was well liked in Anaheim. I suspect he'd go back, but he really doesn't want to be traded, so I'm guessing Jackets might have to go back to him with that option and one he didn't veto to force his hand.

I do find it weird though that the scout at the game for us is Sam McMaster who is one of our the head amateur scouts. Could possibly be scouting young players (Etem, Rakell, Silfverberg) that he's scouted before in the past.

Doubt Anaheim would move Silfverberg... he's part of their core, it seems. He's also seeing second line minutes lately. Rakell also has tremendous potential but like Silfverberg, I doubt Anaheim would trade him. Etem, however, is kind of stuck in no man's land. Has been given the opportunity to succeed in Anaheim within the past few years but hasn't really played to his potential while in the NHL. He is a natural center with a right handed shot. Could potentially slot in at RW... he's the most likely Ducks player of the three that I've listed that I can see being traded in a package deal.

IMO there's something called Free Agency that they could just be a west coast based scout looking at kings/ducks

I don't care for Silfverberg. Has not really shown much to this point and he should have shown something by now. They seem to want to hang onto Rakell and that's understand. Etem is the guy I want. Game would work with Jackets style if they don't overreact about his tendency to skate around/diagonally instead of a straight line the way the Ducks have. He goes to the net and can play physical. Etem and a pick for Wiz would be enticing to me though I'm still not thrilled about trading Wiz in the first place.

MY hunch is Wiz would want to leave his family here. So he would have West Coast and Canadian Rockies teams on his no trade list. He would want to go some place where he could return home to Columbus easily.

Palm/Silf is the only to i want from ANA. Etem might be worth it but i think we have better prospects then him in the same position.

This is where someone jumps in and says "NO WAY the Ducks part with Palmeri!!!" :sarcasm:
But seriously though, I like the direction of your thinking on this.
Allow me to oblige you. ;) There actually was a thread suggesting this on T&R not too long ago, and Ducks fans near-universally condemned it.

If The team wants to trade depth for depth, or depth for a pick, or even an established player for a pick, they better be damn sure the next "wave" of depth is ready.

Dano could be, but I'm not sure about the rest yet.
