Kings Article: 2015 Season Reviews: Williams, Toffoli, Stoll, Shore, Sekera

Also, his discipline is underrated. He took the fewest 5v5 penalties among Los Angeles defensemen who skated more than 1000+ 5v5 minutes last year:

Sekera only played 307 total minutes for the Kings, nevermind 5vs5 minutes. Now if you are talking the entire season then that would include his time in Carolina, which has nothing to do with Sekera as a King.

A better way to look at it would be 5vs5 penalties per minute played, otherwise it's just a tilted stat that will nearly always say those who play more minutes per game get more penalties per game. Naturally Doughty will get more penalties than Matt Greene when he's playing over 13 minutes more per game that Matt Greene, but does anyone actually think Greene is more disciplined?

The article is tilted towards pumping Sekera's tires. You don't need to explain away all his 'negatives.' If they are negatives, state them as such and leave it. You're the reporter, not his agent.

Thanks for the critique, this is a fair point. I do think Sekera's minutes, even if in Carolina, do have relevance in terms of making the point that he's a disciplined defender:

Awesome,

Still not worth four or Five million a season, at age 29 when the season starts.

Personal opinion.
