I was able to watch the 4 on 4 today but not any Monday through Wednesday. I was interested to see how the Sherwoods played and they didn't look out of place at all. Kole is more of a dangler and likes to take the puck to the net any chance he could. He tries to force some passes that would be better as shots on goal. Kiefer made some nice plays too, having two goals in two games. Kole had a shootout goal.

Kiefer played the last two years at Youngstown USHL, and will be going to
Miami U this fall. Kole will be going to Youngstown this fall, and is committed to Boston U. I saw these guys play many times while teammates with my bosses son playing AAA Blue Jackets U16 and U18. My bosses son played for Chicago Steel and Youngstown (USHL) the last two years and has a scholarship to Bowling Green and will attend there this fall. All local boys with a good shot at making their dreams come true.

Werenski, Paliotta, Carlsson, Heatherington, Collins all have what it will take to get to the next level. Most of them were trying to show off their offensive side of their games during the 4 on 4. All of them have size and are good to very good skaters.

Milano and Bjorkstrand are fun to watch. Only attending one day is too limited for me to critique much.

Milano had a sick spinning pass and had a few takeaways. Other than that, pretty meh.

I thought Milano really controlled the offensive zone whenever he was out there. He did some great things with the puck, and when he didn't have the puck he was doing a great job of filling lanes and creating pressure. He didn't have a perfect day but he seemed to be a threat whenever Team Prout was in the O-zone which was really fun to watch.

accordingly to Rob Mixer
Jarmo Kekalainen is a big fan of Paliotta and tried (unsuccessfully) to acquire him during the season, and the GM believes he can compete for a spot on defense in September.

Is he so really good?

He looked that way to me in the prospect tournament, but I'm notoriously poor at doing my own prospect evaluation, so for all I know I just doomed the kid by saying that.

like I mentioned before, Paliotta had 63 points and a +21 in his final 79 games (2 seasons) of NCAA hockey

he's definitely got some potential and it wouldn't surprise me if he made the roster this fall

Doubt we carry 8 D again. Would need a trade, an unlikely candidate going on waivers (Prout?) or a Murray injury to occur.

So he starts in Springfield and gets called up if needed? I think Paliotta is going to be a very solid player for us, I'm no good at assessing line skill - but he can play for sure

i think he gets a cup of coffee up here as an injury call up...not sure he's NHL ready yet...but he's listed as our top D prospect (Werenski not added yet obviously)

Unless the Jackets are willing to carry 23 players no prospect is making the team out of camp.

I don't see that happening - I think they will want to save the cap space unless, and I see this as a slim chance, a prospect completely blows the roof off during camp and deserves playing time as opposed to press box time.
