2014 top 4 draft picks

When comparing career accomplishments. How does the 2014 top 4 draft picks compare to other draft's top 4 picks? From 2015 draft and before.

Ekblad, Reinhart, Draisaitl and Bennett seems like a very solid bunch.

Being traded to FLA really turned Reinhart's career around and basically saved Bennett's career (he was looking to be on a Nick Ritchie sort of trajectory before the trade).

Depends how highly you value cups I guess. I'd value players' contributions to a cup win more than just the fact of winning it (making Bennett's accomplishments significantly more valuable than Ekblad's or Jones'). I'd think 2015 is probably better on aggregate. 2013 starts strong and drops off hard with Drouin/Jones. 2009 is solid but probably falls short, same with 2008. None of the post-lockout years really come close otherwise, and even 2004 is extremely top-heavy (but some amazing accomplishments between Ovi/Malkin obviously).

It's one of the better top fours. Even in years with a legend, you'll tend to see a meh guy drafted right before or after. I'm talking about you, Eddie O.

Sort of funny up until 2 years ago I would say it was rather disappointing. Ekblad is very good but nothing spectacular as a #1 pick while Draisaitl lived up to the hype and then some. Reinhart and especially Bennet had blah careers up till that point

Maybe Draisaitl needs to be traded to Florida to save his carrer
