He might already have offers on the table.

He has 3 children, maybe more?

It's tough to uproot your whole family, especially when your children have already adjusted to the place that they are living.

The agent trying to gain leverage on Sather seems like his last ditch effort to get more money.

I'm still confident that they come to an agreement.

It's a very fair offer. Dom Moore will take every last penny he can get if his past is any indication. And I am not begrudging him for this. It's a business. But people need to remember that he has shown zero loyalty in the past towards anyone.

D. Moore has been a dedicated pro wherever he has been. That's all the loyalty anyone should expect. As for his asking price, it's too much. The guy has never made more than $1.2MM in a year, to give him his biggest contract at 33 is nuts. Let someone else do that.

Dominic Moore has always gone for the most money, even in a self-destructive way.

When in Toronto (where he had that unsustainable monster year), he was seeking 3 million dollars. Toronto was softening to an amount that would of still been higher than anything he's seen since, but Moore wouldn't budge. As a result, he was traded and ended up making A LOT less than Toronto's offer while bouncing around multiple teams.

I do recall Anton saying he'd like to stay in NY for that reason. He has like 3-4 kids, and he'd hate to uproot his family.

That doesn't mean we can lowball him, but a good contract that's also convenient for us should hopefully get it done.

You'd figure after his wife's death, that he would prefer to finish out his career where he started. His house is also not too far from NY if I'm not mistaken.

Everybody gone. The team is ruined. Moore is gone because this front office is too proud to show they need/want to resign one of their own.

Don't know if it has been mentioned or not, but there are a few under-the-radar players the Rangers (in my opinion) should be looking at, especially if they are losing Stralman, Boyle, Moore, and Pouliot, in addition to already losing Dorsett and Richards:

Mathieu Perreault - Small, but speedy, creative center. 26 years old, and a + possession player. More of a pass-first player, which the Rangers have tons of, but has a surprising shot (15-20 goal scorer). A top-3 center rotation of Stepan, Perrault, and Brassard could certainly be worse. Would be a younger, faster version of Richards.

Mason Raymond - Another speedy wing to compliment Hagelin, Kreider, and the rest. If the team's identity is going to be speed and possession, these two are great targets, who don't seem to be drawing a ton of interest on the media boards.

For the inevitable revamping of the bottom line/bottom-6, I'd hope they are looking at guys like Devin Setoguchi and Blake Comeau. Bigger (relative to guys I've seen mentioned like Brian Gibbons and the like) players who not only can hit, but love to hit, as well as crash the net and have proven to be capable of popping in offense, who are coming of relative down-years, and likely won't be looking for a ton of money.

And not as under-the-radar, but, as mentioned, Christian Ehrhoff should be a high-priority target with Stralman leaving. Despite being left-handed, he plays the right side, and loves his one-timers. He thrived under Vigneault in Vancouver (28 goals, 98 points in 159 games), and despite being on the older side of the Rangers' players at 31, fits the need for offense behind McDonaugh on D. I've seen Fayne floated, but I'd honestly rather give the extra space back to Stralman, as I expect they sign for surprisingly similar cap numbers.

More under-the-radar guys, if Ehrhoff and Stralman are too expensive could be Zach Redmond (right-handed, offensive minded, great skater, yet to breakout and would come cheap), or Brett Bellemore (defensive-minded, so not a great fit, but right-handed, cheap, and has shown a willingness to engage in the rough-stuff).

Really hoping for more shrewdness from management, as they need to get creative, and those would be a few of the guys I'd be investigating... Anyone hate the idea?

Let the frenzy begin!

D.Boyle expects 4 offers. Washington is believed to have joined a group of teams that also includes Tor, Mtl, Det, NYR and Tampa Bay. #FAF

Hope we aren't one of the 4...

Moved over from the Free Agent Frenzy threat.

I like Perrault. He seems to an under-the-radar guy. He's pretty quick. I think he might do quite well between Hags and MSL.

It'd be VERY close cap-wise, but this is what I'd be relatively happy with:

Kreider - Step - Nash
Hags - Perrault - MSL
Miller - Brass - Zuccs
Carter - Moore - Lindberg
Carcillo

McD - Girardi
Staal - Ehrhoff/Fayne
Moore - Klein
Diaz

I'd have to cut some guys a little short, but I think it would be do-able. Fayne would be a cheaper option than Ehrhoff and give more flexibility in the cap. I'd like that center depth, though, with Miller and Lindberg both able to play C if it was required. Miller could play a similar game to Pouliot on the Brass line, and that second line would be quick. Fourth line would be a bit of a question mark, but it would help break Lindberg in with two vets.

Same here. It'd be poor use of cap.

Listening to Eklund's live stream, reports are that Iginla want a 3 year deal and he is most likely gone from Boston.

The worst part about 4th line players pricing themselves off this team is that it continues the "THIS TEAM DOESN'T PAY ITS OWN PLAYERS" incorrect mantra.

Larry Brooks @NYP_Brooksie
Boyle would fill two holes for Rangers...second-pair right D and first power play point

Shut up Brooks!! Ugh.
