I have now gone 4 years in a row to Plymouth, MI and I whole heartedly recommend it if you can make the trip.

The games this year were really fun. A lot of them were close - not all of course.

Some notes from a non-scout...
I attended Wed - Fri seeing two days of the round robin plus the QFs.

SSM was loaded as always. A couple kids really stood out to me and none of this was news. Drew Daley was the best player on Shattuck and the best D in the tournament that I saw. Parker Colmer didn't pop but every time I turned around he was scoring again. Evans, Morris, Moad, Hanutke... just all types of talent.

Minutemen Flames was a highly ranked team I'd never had the opportunity to see before. They were really a great team. They play well as a team with wonderful passing. Some names that popped for me were Marzi, Machado, Wilchoski, Erickson and the G, Torres. I'm pretty sure USA hockey G coach Dave Lassonde was there watching him amongst others.

I love the Mount program and they played hard but didn't score like they needed to. Charboneau is big and skilled but a little too selfish for me with no D. Boumedienne is skilled but not fantastic. Where they really excel is on the back end with Foyt (great puck mover but really slight), Ivan Belikov ( Rus/US dual) and Ruggere. The latter two are big and rough and skilled.

The other team I've not had much opportunity to see and was my favorite was the MN Blue Ox. They are the Moorhead Spuds Bantam team. They play as a team so well, their fans are fun and they are SKILLED. Obviously Joey Cullen is fantastic. He was the best forward I saw all weekend. This kid stood out like James Hagens did for Mount 4 years ago. He's a definite NTDP kid but I hope he stays with this group in MN HS hockey. There is also a Will Cullen who is pretty good. Not sure if they are related but I assume so. The kid who was new to me and the second best D at the tournament was Easton Dozark. Maybe as good as Daley. He was a ton of fun! Great skater. Wonderful with the puck. Good decision maker. He doesn't get beat. Buttweiler stood out too especially with his speed. I hope they win it all.

Other misc notes:
*Alex Walker Florida Alliance - big tall F who is gangly but has a high ceiling
*Mason Martin G from Fox single handedly beat Neponset Valley. Amazing saves of all kinds. The team in front of him is not one of the best at the tournament but he is really good.
* LC is loaded but I only saw them beat up an overmatched ND team and Fox. Not really tested yet. But that may be a backhanded compliment.

Great tournament that I hope has 14s or 15s play in Plymouth every year. Make sure you go.
