What about Barulin?

Do Mironov, Kosov, Kamanev and Buchnevich actually deserve to be on the team or is this just some kinda experiment to bring in more young players to the Russian National Team?

This is mostly an experiment team with Radulov and Kovalchuk.

Kosov is a 4th line forward in Magnitogorsk and Mironov is probably the 6th defenseman in Dynamo Moscow. They are purely experimental players, which is good since nobody cares about this tournament anyway.

Buchnevich (born in 1995) and Kamayev (born in 1996) are great junior players and it will be good to see how they perform at this level.

It is not EHT but still... IFK Helsinki does not allow F Zaborsky to join slovak NT, because of CHL.

(googletranslated because i'm lazy)
The decision to Moller not to play the tournament has been agreed between the player and Pär Mårts. Oscar Moller was one of three players from the KHL who received late clearance from their respective clubs.
- Oscar has a right to go if he wants, he is releasad of his club. But the coach does not want him to go, saying MÃ¥rts.
According to the coach, the union pulled discussions with Moller's club as far as it goes. Although Moller has the right to go to the collection does not want the union to put hard against hard.
- He does not want Oscar to go. We will not disturb the relationship between Oscar and coach more, because you do not know where it can go then.
All other KHL players will
Although Oscar Moller does Karjala Cup will rest players from the KHL do it.
- All set aside will play. It's only Oscar that we have had this dialogue with and guessed that it could be spanner in the works, says Pär Mårts.
It is still not clear with no substitute for Moller. Pär Mårts says that it stands between Calle Ridderwall and Andreas Jonsson. The announcement of who will replace Oscar Moller expected during the day.
- I'll just check to make sure everyone is healthy and fresh, before I do anything, says coach.

Pretty interesting and young lineup, what do you think? I am curious to see how will you guys play for example against Russians, they have pretty good roster.

strange roster.

KHL has no international pause this year, and I heard that Russian clubs don´t tend to be very nice to players who choose to play for national teams rather than play in the leauge. That could be one of the reasons for no KHL players on Czech team, on the other hand, Ruzicka probably wants to try younger players.

I read somewhere today that the KHL will break for the December EHT in Sochi.

Our coach Ruzicka said long time before that he wants to try younger guys from Extraliga in this tourney and won't invite any KHLers. So I don't think it has something to do with Russian clubs not wanting to release their players. Althouhg it might have strengthen his stance.

It will be interesting to see those guys there, for sure. I think it's a good thing that they will try international hockey and see how hard compered to Extraliga this is. For example, I remember Kousal saying in his interview last year that it was crazy pace he wasn't used to from Extraliga and that it opened his eyes and he understood that he has to work even harder.

It is a very inexperienced roster and there's a chance that it gets ugly for us but I believe many of those guys are good enough to compete even in this level.

Well of course they will take a break for their own tournament, screw the others. Other European leagues should counter that next season by not having a break during the Russian tournament and instead scheduling league and CHL games on that week.

Yes, sure. Because there are so many Russian players that plays in those European leagues and it will be so hurtful for Russian team? :sarcasm:

Please, Jussi, you can't really think that decision like that could hurt Russian tournament in any way, can you? European leagues have no star players that could be missed by spectators and no Russian players, so nobody in Russia will even notice any difference.

Well, if the KHL is only interested in breaking for the Russia stage of the EHT, Finland and Sweden should withdraw from the tourney altogether and instead play a series of games with players from their domestic leagues...

So practically every country participating is treating this as a fresh face tryout camp, more or less.

Refreshing.

Not Sweden, beyond the 3-4 stopped KHL players MÃ¥rts has the team he thinks is our best(opinions will differ, but that's another story).

Heh, when are any of us 100% happy with the picks? But Sweden should play well then regardless, or they have a rather candid reason to be embarrassed...

To be fair, Finland is perhaps a 50-50 squad between the best ones and test cases. And even those auditioning have a decent shot of becoming part of the 1st squad sooner rather than later.

Still, it's not exactly a run-of-the-mill EHT leg, so very interesting nonetheless.

Whats funny is russia and czech is only in the tournament because they whined about not being included back when it was the nordic trophy.

They should just skip all this drama and remake the original tournament.
