2014-2015 Roster

Drew's long term partner is Muzzin they play good together and Drew likes playing with him. What does the kid have to do to get any props with King fans he is a pretty solid d/man good in both ends and plays with a bit of a mean streak. Perfect partner for Drew.

They're not ideal partners. Their games overlap a bit, and by pairing them together, we're not getting the best out either of them.

Muzzin is better when he's not playing with Drew (the analytics back this up), and some of DD's offensive upside is waisted by having to make up for Muzzin's defensive deficiencies.

I much rather see Coach Sutter run a 5th red line, while keeping Carter and Richards as C's in their respective lines.

I was watching some 2010 SCF clips; by doing so, it made me realize the effectiveness of Richards and Carter in the same line reduced. I will not find it hard to believe if this was the hole the Blackhawks exploited in both 2010 SCF and 2013 WCF.

As for Tyler and Tanner, the team needs to inject more youth to balance and complement the veterans. It paid off and brought out Carter's effectiveness at a maximum as a C.

Specifically about Jarret, I say, keep him for two more years. I've seen his PK unit with Matt Greene and its effectiveness.

I saw all of those games, not just the highlights.
2010- Hawks won because their 6 D collectively were ALOT better, esp Keith who should have won the Conn Smythe, he was by far the best player on the ice for either team, all world series. The HAwks bottom 6 was ALOT better. Leighton allows too many key soft goals, esp the 2 soft goals in game 6.
Lavvy assigned Richards the job of shutting Toewes down, that was his only job. Briere's line was the scoring line. Toewes had 0 goals and 3 assists in 6 games

2013- Richards got a head injury in game 1 and did not play in games 2 ,3 or 4 and was on the 4th line for a large part of game 5.
He wasn't the reason they lost and Carter had strong series, he Williams and Richards were the Kings best and most consistant forward during that playoff run. The lost tothe Hawks because they were injury riddled , Quick and Doughty didn't have their best series and Kopitar and Brown were struggling.

Gaborik - Kopitar - Brown
Pearson - Carter - Toffoli
King - Richards - Williams
Clifford - Stoll - Lewis
Cracknell

Muzzin - Doughty
Regehr - Voynov
Martinez - Greene
McNabb
Schultz

Quick
Jones

Now im not sure if Brown and Williams should be swapped but anyways, i think this is pretty close to what we'll see to start the season. Im fairly sure Cracknell will outplay Nolan (and even Clifford/Lewis), and Jordan will be out either via trade or waivers. Schultz is pretty much the clear 7th defenseman but McNabb can shuffle the defense a bit during the year.

Cap space: 258K

Talk about a well structured roster. Cant complain about anything.

Last time Williams was in a contract year, he played fantastic to open up the season until he got his deal. I think people forget how much he carried the team early in the 10/11 season.

We all know how great of a player JW is when he's at the top of his game. If he plays like that early on, I'd love to see him on that top line with Gaborik and Kopitar. The 3 of them would be deadly together.
