no no no...lets raise the banner, drop the puck, have an ok season then DECIMATE EVERYONE IN THE PLAYOFFS!

(If it aint broke, dont fix it, right?) ;)

Good Luck to us... Remember people...there's nothing to win until April. Finish 8th for all I care. No one should lose their mind during the season with this team, even if it goes into its usual downturn from XMas to V-Day, it's not worth it anymore. Just enjoy the season and the legacy and the standard these guys are setting for this franchise we love.

And lay off the hot wings GBK, you'll get crabs or something.

Finally game day! The path to defend the Cup begins. Regardless of how deep they get this year, we will all be very proud of what this team has accomplished... but we as fans have that feeling, that gut instinct, that the winning isn't over yet. And the players feel that pull to push this even further. Now they've had the chance to taste sweet victory they are hungry for more. You can see it in their eyes, feel it from their hearts, this team isn't done writing history.

And so tonight, it all begins.

Hey everyone, just wanted to briefly introduce myself. I'm a new hockey fan, as I'd never seen a game until the Winter Olympics a few months ago. I enjoyed watching Quick play and felt that he was the only player to show up for USA in the final two games. Loved his compete level. I decided to root for whichever NHL team Quick was on. That decision turned out pretty well

Anyways, banner raising game tonight against the sharks? Nice troll job NHL! I'm excited to watch a full season of hockey and have no idea how I've lived without it for so long. Go Kings!

Not so sure we are going to see the same Kings during the regular season as we have in the past.

We have an offensively dynamic top two lines now, and that has not been that consistent in the past few seasons. A lot of snipers on those top two lines. In addition, and as far as I can recall, their is not going to be a long road trip due to a Grammys break this season. I am not sure if that means the Grammys are going somewhere else or its a shortened program this season (don't care, just if its true, good riddance). So we may not see that usual downtown come in the dead of winter.

This team can compete for the division title, if it wants to. In any event, I would be shocked (barring major injuries) if we fail to make the top 3 in the Pacific Division.

Grammy's are Feb 8th, 2015 at Staples. and the Kings have a 12 or 13-day road trip at that time.

I understand the Dodgers and the Angels are the best teams in Baseball and (according to the LA Times) hands-down favorites to win their leagues and meet in the World Series.

I understand that the Sharks had a 3-0 lead in a series......

That's probably asking a lot, but it's completely true. There is no situation this team can't win in. Score enough goals in the regular season, and they could take the division. If they don't score enough, they've won 8 of their last 9(or 11 if you want to go back to 2010) playoff series where they started on the road, including winning once in Chicago.

The angst of being a Kings fan should be gone by this point with this version of the team.

Can't wait till we start out the season in a real rough patch and everyone is calling for heads again, great times.

Damn! Someone is gonna need some aloe vera.

huh? Anyone who takes sports results personally needs psychiatric evaluation. My point was a parable about the future, not the past. But if it does bother you that the LA Bball teams lost, I have a number you can call.
