I disagree. It deflected right in front of him, and I don't even think he realized it was going through the legs until right when it was going through.

He did almost get it though, but he would have been very lucky.

Lots of talk about Bolland should be suspended

I see nothing wrong with his hit

- No Elbow
- Skates didn't leave ice until contact
- Didn't target head (Richards Chin hit his #'s on back)

Am I just a homer or do I have legit reason to be confused by the calls for Bolland to be suspended?

Intent matters. I look at that and I see a guy who was trying to throw an elbow but just missed with it. Result matters too, so he might escape suspension, but that is not a clean hit attempt.

At first glance, it appears to be an elbow but it's actually Richards glove as he gets suprised by the hit. Bolland kept his arm down the whole way.

This is the perfect game to be put on NBC on a Saturday night. Only it's such a low scoring game! A lot of odd man rushes.

Malkin vs Bergeron is a random fight, but those are the type that I think should never be removed from the game. Genuine emotion boiling over and resulting in a spontaneous fight. I love seeing that.

Normally your posts are pretty reasonable and don't show any homer tendencies. This case is the same.... I see no reason for a suspension. But with the league nowadays, who knows what Shanny will do.
