Pateryn is an average prospect. PHI has D prospects better than him already.

When the Red Wings signed Alfie that was bad for the Habs but having them sign the best center out of the UFA's in Stephen Weiss is really going to hurt this year. Hopefully the Habs get Iginla to help the PP, then Briere, Pacioretty, Iginla with Subban and Markov is scary good. Gallagher and possibly Thomas could be others for the RW spot but the Habs need a 2nd PP too.

The Habs can use the veteran leadership that Iginla can provide, especially with the Detroit gang in our Division. Another Dman could help A.Sulzer if he's still available possibly being a former Predator speaks for his defence.Maybe they can sign Hal Gill as an Asst. Coach for the defence also.

Coburn + Talbot for Beaulieu?

You have to give to get - not sure where I'd stand on that. Coburn had a bad year but he's not a bad player. Talbot would look awesome with Prust and White.

With Beaulieu's charge - I have no doubt Bergevin would be okay moving him though. "No Character."

If the return was right, I don't think we would regret it. We're very deep on D in the pipeline, it's a position of strength.

If Beaulieu nets us a Coburn/Simmonds return (in a package involving more pieces), I'd consider it.
