2013 NHL Draft - Pick #170 - Mackenzie Skapski

I think his stats last year are terrific, particularly for someone drafted so late. Love the fact that he's shown big improvement over the previous year.

Agree 100%. The kid has been fantastic the second half of this season in particular. 4 shutouts in February alone. Shows a high compete level and seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

Very likeable kid. Seems to be sound technically and has some outstanding reflexes. He'll be the No.1 guy next year.

Hopefully this one has a long career.

Also, he's born June 15th, 1994. Hours after the Rangers won the cup. Born to be a Ranger?

Nice factoid:D

The org needed goalie depth, kid has decent size, good numbers, no rush for a superstar, there should be one here for awhile in that Swedish fella.

So much win in this thread.

It's one after the other.

Well done, boys

He's a ranga boys

Let's see how many of you'll figure out what this is from ;)

And if you google it WE'RE NOT FRIENDS ANYMORE

:shakehead

Unbelievable.

Guys job is pretty easy, just pick your friends players/sons.

Worked with Olver right ?

Yeah his job is really easy, I bet all his friends told him about Stepan and Kreider and everything.

Come on man, that's unfair. "Unbelievable" is really harsh considering it's the second to last round of the draft and the kid isn't some scrub.

I would've liked Marty's son instead for the lulz if we are picking based on family connection.

Every round you take the bpa.

I don't believe this kid was the bpa at this spot cause Ryan Mcgill says he's good.

bpa available right now ignoring future growth? I would think a scout has to say "Hey this overager is better now but I don't think he'll grow much more. This Skap, man...he looks like he'll grow." You're obviously oversimplifying a 6th round pick to justify your need to express displeasure that they didn't draft the way you wanted to. You might be right but we certainly have made a high number of mid to late round picks that have developed so I think it's not warranted to jump angrily at the choices here unless someone has some amazing pedigree in determining prospect growth but I certainly haven't seen that from anyone here. Maybe you feel they should have taken a better player here? That's fine.
