Rumour I'm hearing,is soon as the other team involved read news of a Quebec parade,
They got cold feet....Eck blew the parade all to pieces.

Now there's parade floats goin up for sale on classfieds ads sites like crazy...
Was not a rumour.
I heard it clearly on 98.5.

Now you are explaining why the Nucks had cold feet.

I just wanted to talk about what was said by Martin McGuire.

I do understand your explanation. I would not even say it is farfetched. It does not makes sense in anyway.

Do you have anything to support what you say?

What I heard is pretty clear.

There was a deal in motion so the Habs could get Morin and it turned sour.
So either you are a sbire for the Habs or you would want to know more about this.

This has nothing to do about any parade.
You think Morin would warrant a parade?

Some of us has the recordings.
I know what I heard and you can dismiss it as much as you want but it remains...

There was a deal to get Morin and Habs were screwed big time.

I heard it on a legitimate source (98.5) and it is interesting.
You may want to pretend that it is a rumor but I am certainly not alone...

On the main boards a lot of people are picking Montreal as the winner of the draft, and some Habs fans go there to explain why it's a very bad draft for Montreal, hilarious.
I guess it all depends on how McCarron, DeLaRose and Fucale turn out.
At this point feels like we are far from being winners.

But if McCarron and Fucale turns into top players, then we did good.

I really like the gamble on McCarron and Fucale.

Here's something interesting: The Montreal Canadiens have picked prospects in all of the past 4 Memorial Cup champions.

2013 Halifax Mooseheads: Zachary Fucale
2012 Cataractes Shawinigan: Michael Bournival & Morgan Ellis
2011 St. John Sea Dogs: Nathan Beaulieu
2010 Windsor Spitfires: Brady Vail

Timmins picks only winners.
Next year we could see McCarron on a winning Knights team.

Doubt any of the Knights today's draftee make the NHL next season, if McCarron moves there they would be a stacked team for sure.

Columbus draft was crazy good...

Wennberg, Rychel, Dano, Moutrey, Bjorkstrand, Soberg, Heatherington.

Quenneville is meh, but the other guys are all guys who were on my list.

With Kekelainen, you knew they were gonna have a good draft.

We dodged a freaking bullet by not being able to trade up and draft Morin. That would have been a BIG mistake.

An early first-rounder AND the 25th and we'd probably have near-consensus that the Habs won the day or truly deserve that letter A.

I have faith in this team's ability to evaluate. With a Top-10 pick, we`re probably not sweating McCarron. Fucale would be viewed as that much more of a steal...

But...

The cupboard is just bare enough that we couldnt move prospects (that are more like suspects) or roster players, to move up.

Daffy Gillis moved up but he still has a goaltending mess to clean up.

There was NO other movement in Round 1. Just in-over-his-head Gillis plugging one hole while widening another.

Hartman vs McCarron. I think our Round 1 will come down to that, pretty much.

Not a stellar draft, but far from a wash. We addressed some needs to patch a roster still reeling from previous admin mistakes.

IMO, we moved forward yesterday, and probably got 3-4 players who will help down the road. I`ll take it.

We did not pick Bournival, acquired from Colorado for Ryan O'Byrne

With drafting Morin? Nope.

With essentially trading McCarron, De La Rose, and Fucale for him? Yes.

Depends the picks. McCarron might have been available at 34 anyway.

It was a pick/player combo apparently. 1st+2nd+player maybe? I can't imagine 5 picks and a player, too much.

What?

To move up from 25th to 9th, it would have most definitely cost us the 25th, 34th, and 36th.

When did I say 5 picks and a player?

Is there something wrong with drafting Morin?

Dont got nothing against the guy but id much rather have what we GOT over another defenseman.

hell i was LIVID with the mccarron pick because i thought he was a D for an hour after we drafted him, pretty happy hes a winger instead. no MATTER the line! yeah i said it!

As usual there are/were a few 'pet prospects" on here. :)

I see a lot of posters angry that Nick Moutrey wasn't targeted instead of others. The kid has some attributes but he's a borderline NHL prospect. He really has to improve his skating if he hopes to make it as a bottom line player. Not shocked that he wasn't a top 100 selection.

One prospect who got overrated on here all season (since Woodlief ranked him as a top ten guy in Nov.) was Tyler Hill - some guys were even talking about taking him with our second and third round picks based on American hype. Any scouts I talked to who saw him play weren't interested in drafting him. Bear in mind there is usually always a few American high school prospects that end up getting overhyped each season.

I'm not sure why so many of you were angry that Buchnevich wasn't taken by the Habs. Lots of teams wanted nothing to do with him. One of those beaver slapping Russians that curses his teammates when he doesn't get the puck, hogs the puck quite a bit too...that attitude won't fly in North America, he'll be on the first flight back to Moscow if he plays like that over here. Russian Prima Donnas are rarely highly coveted, regardless of skill level, and there are plenty of question marks concerning his character at this time.

Yet I thought that his 12 points in 30 games in the USHL for a guy that young, would have been enough to draft him based on his size and possible potential. I mean, 6th and 7th rounds, chances are there will be players who would have just as much chance as making it than him.

Have you had a chance to get a feel of Austin Cangelosi? Another smallish forward but he does seem to have thet speed to overcome his size don't you think?
