I think they did. I wouldn't have moved the #9 for him. But the Devils have nothing of value to trade for him otherwise. So it's a bit of a catch-22. Sort of sucks for them, but they needed a goalie bad.

Horvat is a Center, and a good one, just scratching the surface. I think he has high ceiling than what some are projecting. More of a pro style player, will be a Ryan O'reilly energy Center type if all goes well.

Not every top 10 pick is a first liner, and that doesn't make them underwhelming at all.
