At 19-20 years old Lokti was bouncing from the NHL/AHL while Zajac was at a D-1 School. Prior to that, at 18, he was outperforming Zajac in the "O," at a younger age in a harder league (CHL vs D-1) despite not being apart of a program as superior as Zajac's was relative to the rest of the teams in the league.
My point is that the argument that Zajac warranted some sort of reasonable expectation of a 60 point season entering age 23 isn't as plausible as some want to make it seem in hindsight. He had struggled in the NHL as a kid, as many do, and it wasn't a lock that he was going to take that next step. Just because you're picked in Round 1 doesn't mean you're some sure-fire star, especially when you're picked in the 20s like Zajac and Tedenby.
Tedenby has 29 points on 104 games. Zajac had 76 in 162. Both first round picks. Obviously Trav outperformed Teddy but I think a lot of people would be laughed at if they said Teddy was going to put up, let's say 40 points just because he was a first round pick.
You're backing up your argument with a lot of objective opinion and not a lot of facts.
They're going to keep ripping you apart, and rightfully so.
