well, he would fit the age requirement. 30 or older.. Ellsbury wouldn't, so you may get your wish.

There are Yankee fans that want McCann. He'll be 30 going into next season. Why sign a catcher that age to a multi-year deal when catching is abundance in the system?

Theres no way on earth that A-Rod comes back in 2015 after his suspension. The Yankees will negotiate some sort of buy out with him if it even comes to that.

I think that's the angle he will take once he admits he did it (again).

He has no argument, which makes this whole thing even more bizarre.

But I agree, if he has to take a stance, I think that will be it. Gee, I wonder if someone is going to mention that years and years of steroid abuse are probably what led to the injuries in the first place

Wilmer Flores is making his MLB debut in the Mets game tonight, playing 3B and batting 6th. I'm interested to see how he does or where he fits into the Mets going forward. He's a natural SS, but the Mets have had him play 1B, 2B and 3B in the minors.

He's got a terrific bat, but a lack of true position is slightly worrying. Mets had that problem with Murphy until finding a spot at 2B for him.

Also, I've been really happy with Juan Lagares this season. If he can develop into a .280 -.290 hitter I would be more than satisfied with him being the everyday CF.

Im happy flores is finally here and TDA is on the way soon. I still think the mest will use flores as a trade chip to get a power hitter especially if he does well up here the last 2 months

I think the Mets will trade some of these young arms for some power. There just isn't enough room to give starts to Harvey, Wheeler, Neise, Mejia, Gee, Hefner with Montero, Syndergaard coming up.

And there goes Juan Lagares improving my faith in him.

syndergaard and wheeler arent going anywhere. Montero is the most likely to get traded

Depends how much McCann wants. Stewart/Cervelli are garbage, they are back up catchers. Romine needs to be given a chance and Sanchez is probably 2 years away. If McCann wants to take say a 3 year deal I'd be all for it. You go with McCann/Romine until Sanchez is ready. For all the praise Posey/Yadi get, McCann is only a notch below them. McCann would make Yankees a better ball club.

I can see McCann wanting 5 years in which case stay away.

Ike's been fantastic since getting called up- the power is slowly returning and he's been an OBP machine.

Of course, Ike is apparently the most Jekyll and Hyde player so who knows who the real Ike is.

McCann was catching last night when he got in the way of Bryce Harper, who was yelling at Julio Teheran after Teheran hit him with a pitch. At least he had the guts to flick his mask up...unlike the punk Varitek, who had to keep his full armor gear on (including his catcher's mask) just in case A-Rod fought back!

Probably important to have quality D at CF and the middle infield spots, but outside of that.. meh

Seeing Lucas Duda play the outfield makes me realize how important defense is especially in a big ballpark like Citi.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Chase Utley and the Phillies have agreed to a contract extension that could keep the five-time All-Star in Philadelphia through at least the 2015 season, two people familiar with the deal told The Associated Press on Wednesday night.

Good to see Wilmer with a few knocks. Be it at first or second, they gotta find a place for him to play.

Harvey threw 75% of his pitches for strikes. With that kind of stuff and that command, he's basically unhittable.
