Looking at the above list, the Isles have done pretty decently with picks in the 60-something range from 2009 - 2012. All these players are still considered promising prospects. Not bad.
Yeah, dead heat so far.
ITM: If there is a run-off, does the winner get #7 and the loser automatically get #8 or will there be a separate vote for #8?
There definitely needs to be a separate vote. Those voting for one may have someone completely different in mind for8
Possibly. I still think that there's an excellent chance that whomever doesn't get 7 will wind up getting 8 in a separate vote though. In all prior votes, the prospect with the 2nd highest amount of votes has won the next round, except in the case of Round 4 where Donovan lost to Pulock when Donovan was the runner up in Round 3. He did only lose by one vote though.
50 people of those who have voted have a different #7 player than any of the top 2 vote getters (who together account for less than 52% of the overall vote) so I would not be surprised if the loser of the runoff is not #8
Hickey, add Cruz.
I went with Hickey because I have posters telling me not to pick him. Considering that this poll has devolved into a popularity contest and I have to go with the head cheerleader or captain of the football team lest I get shunned by the in crowd I choose the ever popular nonconformist finger in the air, just because I can.
People saying they don't think of Hickey as a prospect, don't vote for Hickey...
Because he wasn't our draft pick and we haven't had years of waiting and watching him develop, shouldn't affect the voting so much, but it has.
He's on the list under the rules, deal with it. He's already showed us plenty and we watched him get better and more confident through a tense season and some playoff action.
Many of the prospects left will probably never show us as much as Hickey has already. The kid, ahem, young man is tenacious, smart and positions himself well. He's learning a lot playing with Lubo and you gotta love his attitude and upside. (his celebration when he scored that OT goal vs the Habs I think was unforgettable).

jump to 3:50, see some Tavares magic on that Hickey OT goal.
side note: Bailey's sweet pass on Nielsen's tying goal (3-3) just before that. Watching this makes me miss hockey - even though summer is awesome.
Possibly. I still think that there's an excellent chance that whomever doesn't get 7 will wind up getting 8 in a separate vote though. i guess we will see that happening less and less as we progress along the depth chart.
