The talent in the list is, indeed, impressive. The ordering of the list, however, notsomuch, imo. Can't wait to see people referring to these guys by where they ranked in this project.

"The Habs would be stupid to trade their 6th best prospect for Player X", etc.

I haven't bothered thinking about this enough to put up my own list yet, but this looks a LOT closer to something I'd come up with in the end. I think Hudon and Thomas are still too high, and I might even flip Nygren and Dietz, as well as Didier and Thrower, and I'm not sure I'd have Bozon over Andrighetto, but otherwise very close. Maybe Dumont too low and Pateryn too high as well, but I wouldn't adamantly defend any of those assertions in the face of a good counter-argument. Actually, backing up for a moment, I'm not even sure I'd have Beaulieu at the top of the list, though he wouldn't be far from it if he wasn't.

Huh...pretty certain you mean de la Rose. Timmins hinted pretty strongly on draft night that they picked DLR ahead of Fucale because they thought it was possible DLR could be Carolina's pick at 35 since they picked a fellow Swede in Lindholm in round 1 (obviously a moot point since BUF traded for that pick). That type of thinking can work when you have 2 picks in a 2-3 spot range. I refuse to believe they had Fucale ahead of McCarron on their list, but I definitely understand why people would have Fucale ahead of McCarron right now. It's the classic question of high upside with questions about whether it will be fulfilled versus a safe prospect with solid upside. McCarron can be one of the more unique forwards in the game if he puts it all together, but in the end you have to say it's a question mark in terms of what he'll be. He's just raw at this point. Fucale doesn't have elite/Vezina Trophy winning upside, but he clearly has good starting goalie upside and seems quite likely to get there. Very polished already.

And to add to the sentiment, I don't get how MM slipped to 25 on this list.

Which scouts ? Professionnal scouts ? I know a few who passed on Fucale.
Scouting agencies? Well it depends which one you look at. And their ranking means very little anyways. So I don't see it as an argument to rank him higher.

Every team has their chosen player higher on their list than the actual rank where he was picked so I would not read too much into that.

I'm puzzled at how you presume Timmins knew McCarron wouldn't be there at 34 but he knew Fucale would still be there at 36... Only thing Trevor Timmins said in his interview is that he took a calculated risk because he knew that between 34 and 36 (Buffalo's rank), Fucale wouldn't get picked. Nowhere did he say that between the 25th and the 34th pick, he knew who was or wasn't going to be picked.
