2013 Free Agency

Hopefully the battle isn't too hardcore, I am rooting for this guy to finally make the NHL as a regular without getting injured first.

Let's wait and see if we signed him or not. ;)

Well, he did confirm it on his Twitter earlier today.

Want to thank @VanCanucks org, fans and my teammates for a great experience!! I'm looking forward to my new chapter with the @FlaPanthers

Seems like a solid guy. Based on Selleck's painful showing last season I think it's a welcome addition, I'm sure he'll battle with the likes of Crabb and Butler for ice time, or just start the season in the AHL and wait for someone to give up a roster spot.

Boyes really isn't that good. He has decent hands but not much else. His stats were very inflated playing with Tavares last season. I'd take him but he wouldn't be my top choice. Raymond would be great, but we probably don't have enough money for him seeing as he probably has several offers. We'll probably just re-sign Mueller IMO, when his price hits bottom.

Oilers waive Toni Rajala

RT @Bob_Stauffer: The #Oilers have placed Toni Rajala on unconditional waivers

The Panthers are thin on RW, so this could a be good fit. Small player but put up PPG last season in AHL. (46 GP: 17-28-45 , in playoffs 17 GP: 4-12-16)

Kind of weird that Oilers gave up on him, guy is still 22.

It's a combination of two things. Seems he wants to return to Europe, and Oilers are really close to the 50 contract limit. He's too weak to make the last jump from AHL to NHL, so if you're looking to insert him into the line-up for next season, rather not IMO.

But, depending on the contracts status (don't know how close we are to the 50 limit), we could pick up his rights and loan him to Europe. Maybe even play him in SA if he's interested on staying in NA.

Only undersized guy really I want is Rocco Grimaldi.

He is not that small, 5´10 approximately. Rocco is a small compared to him.

I don´t think it would such a bad idea to insert him into second line and see if it pans out. What´s there to lose if he signs short term and small cash? How many guys there are in the system at the moment who can put up PPG in ahl at the moment anyway.
