The 19th, they better be getting training camp started by Tuesday or Wednesday. Can't really envision any exhibition games though you'd think they would have a couple with close by teams.

Sounds like they are shooting for a Saturday opening of camps. If the season were to have started on the 15th they were shooting for Weds. As of today it sounds like they are pretty much set on the 19th, though.

Anisimov and Varlamov throw farewell gifts to the stands. Anisimov even bowed at the end:

Penguins already announced they will not play any exhibition games and I think every other team will follow suit. Too short of a time frame and no reason to risk injury in exhibition with a short camp and compressed schedule which is already likely to lead to a higher rate of injuries for guys that weren't playing somewhere.

Just looking at the pics on Twitter, the guys that are already back in town look at psyched to be back as I (and I'm guessing most of you all :)) are to have them back. Can't wait for camp to start. I have Saturday off, might try to head up, assuming it's open to the public and not just a physical day or something.

In a weird coincidence, I am on vacation next week. Wondering what camp is going to look like, I might get a great chance to visit NWA throughout the week.

You made me open up Twitter again to take a look around. It had been 62 days since I had last been on it and the first post I read was Carly Craig apologizing for getting her twitter account hacked... lol

Anisimov did well in the KHL. I have a good feeling about him and how he fits in with the CBJ. Certainly a fan favorite. If he keeps up with the good season, it makes it easier for JD to allow RyJo to grow in the AHL.

It's nice seeing the guys in CBJ sweaters again. Wiz and Foligno are fired up to start the season.

Is there a compilation of CBJers Euro league stats?
For the KHL:
12.jpg

17 games, 2(1+1), -4, 23:34 time on ice per game

36 games, 30(12+18), +16, 22 PIM, 16:58 time on ice per game

33 games, 14(2+12), +13, 8 PIM, 21:39 time on ice per game

24 games, 18 wins, 3 losses, 2 OTL
678 shots, 632 saves
0.932 SV%, 1.94 GAA, 4 shutouts.

All year long Bob played with his Jackets mask - you can see Ohio flag on this picture. He might play one more game for the SKA tomorrow.

I love the idea of putting Donald Fehr on a line, as he knows how to get under someone's skin:sarcasm:

OK, I'll bite? I don't get the Fehr comments. Eric Fehr was a Caps player traded to Winnepeg (or signed?). Had several injuries and a tough time but he's played well in Finland and has size, some skill and grit. Maybe people don't know who he is or I'm totally missing something. ????

Hey Columbus fans...any word on Duninsky? I heard he hurt his hand again in the offseason. Is he expected to start the season on time?

I met and talked with him at a Jackets cocktail party. I asked what he thought about coming to Cbus as part of the Nash trade. He said Columbus got the better of the deal because he was going to be better than Nash. Cocky and doesn't lack confidence, I'll give him that!

I say we send all of the kids down and play for the 1st pick. When LA comes to town I say we rough em up and knock out all of their players. Finally, I say we pay Philly to rough up the NYR knocking all of their players out.

Then we draft Mackinnon, Drouin and Jones with the top 3 picks and win the whole dang thing next season. :)

Ok, so on a seriousness note, I'm stoked that hockey is back. Pissed at both sides, but still glad it's back. And for whatever reason I'm optimistic that we'll have a good season. I think our defense could make up the scoring that our forwards will lack. I think we're going to be a real heavy team and tough to play against...and tough to score against.

Probably in the minority, but I'm optimistic.

And if not this season then soon. I firmly believe in John Davidson. I love the direction of this team. The talent and leadership qualities of Jenner and Ryan Murray. Lots of talent in Springfield. 3 first round draft picks next season and you know our guys have done our homework. Optimistic.

Apparently you missed Fehr's involvement in the recently completed CBA negotiations. See, there was this guy...

Anyone else think Porty's forward lines aren't very good? Let's get this going! :yo:

Any top line with Brassard centering should be extremely suspect, Brassard is the one player on this team I'd pencil in "TBD" next to him. I doubt you traded Rick Nash for what Portzline is pontificating is a second and third liner here in Columbus plus an "outside shot this season" defenseman.
