SERE 24 and NYRFAN218: While you're looking for "cheap" tickets, there are a few posts from folks selling their tickets for the game at or below face value. Perhaps reaching out to them to see if they'd be willing to negotiate (as opposed to eating the loss) would be beneficial for all parties involved. Not sure if you saw them, but here are their posts from the past 2 days:
Good luck!
If anyone is interested, I have 1 seat available in 215 row 3, some of the best views from what I'm told. Selling it for face value $299+9 = $308

I don't think we are allowed to buy from a devils fan + having to sit next to one? Perhaps, we can waive the rule for 50% off.![]()
Best I can do is face value. A buddy bailed and now I'm stuck with the ticket. Its a really good view, if you know anyone interested, point them here.

Okay - Just a general question.
What do you do if you buddies bail or whatever on a game? Do you charge them? Do you eat the ticket?
I can see this happening last minute pretty often, especially if something comes up from work for a weekday game etc. Obviously when your friend agrees to buy a ticket from you, it's like him agreeing to pay for the ticket and attend the game. So if a star play goes down or the team stinks, they can't just back away.
I understand if this is for one game, but what'd the general protacol you STHers take when this happens?
IMO, it should be strictly business as you're not going to give them a "friend's discount" off face value before the season starts just so you can lose money etc.
This doesn't happen to me too often, but when it does, I first try to get another friend to pay face. If I can't I'll give the second friend a discount and ask the bail-er to pay the difference. (Assuming the reason isn't something like "my mom is in the hospital.) If I can't find another friend, I'll throw them up on stubhub and craigslist. If no go there, I'll offer the extra to someone for free, and make the bail-er pay in advance from then on. Basically, there's trust until I get screwed.
