I'm wondering what players if any we're going to focus on. I don't know if they're any big free agent players out there and if we're going to make a strong bid for anyone.

Top needs.
1. Back-up goaltender, Could we lure Tim Thomas consider us next season he would be a solid 1 -2 punch in the pipes?
2. Do we let Streit walk or do we resign him? Could Donovan take his place or should we look for a veteran for D.
3. I think we should let Boyes go for many reasons, he's too slow and plays a similar style of Moulson. We need speed and hands on that line, could Strome be moved to wing to fill this line next year?

I'm not sure what we'll do for the future but I like this teams chances this year to do damage in the playoffs and can't wait for more great Hockey from these kids.

I think it's official, the twenty year rebuilding is now over...:)

It will be interesting to see how the success of this season and the move to the Barclays effects how free agents view the isles. Does the success trump a wacky owner? With strome, niño, Donavan and others potentially pushing for spots next season, the only 2 moves I would love the isles to make would be bringing in a very good respected winger for jt and a goalie. If Thomas does come back and Nabokov resigns a short term deal, I would be ok with that as well. I don't think this team needs any radical changes, clearly they enjoy playing with each other and they have proven that with a solid work ethic, we can be very good.

  1. Sign Bailey to a four/five year deal
  2. Sign Hickey to a three/four year deal
  3. Sign Nabokov to a two year transition deal
  4. Let Boyes, Streit, Reasoner and Aucoin walk
  5. See who shakes loose through Cap lowering belt tightening

I hope we do exactly what you wrote. Streits better days are well behind him, his lack of defensive skills are not helping us. Aucoin looked like he struggled yesterday. He better pick up the pace during the playoffs.

A lot of good suggestions. When Bailey signed his last contract, he signed during the same offseason as Comeau. Both wanted longterm deals, but got short, show me contracts.

I always felt Comeau pouted his way off LI: 0 pts and crappy play in his first 16 games, despite a $2.5m salary. The inconsistent Bailey kept working hard and it's paying off for him and the isles.
