Looked fine to me, too, but that tweet sent the twitter world into a frenzy today.

How's his endurance, his foot speed....ie does he have the legs to keep up with the guys who've been playing overseas since Oct/Nov? Those are the questions I'd want answered and they can't be answered by how "jacked" he looks in a t-shirt.

He may very well be fine. It's a short season, no time to round into shape as the season progresses.

Apples to oranges. A commissioner is just a figure head. You don't even need a certain skill set to excel as one. I say Gretz because there isn't owner out there who doesn't recognize his contribution to the game. When it comes to hockey related matters, his word would carry more weight with his bosses.

Did you read the tweet? It was about him taking a few knees at the skate. It (nor did I) make mention of how "jacked" he looked. It sure is a quick turnaround, and he is at a disadvantage compared to those that have been playing overseas, but let's not jump on the guy for being in/out of shape 24 hours after the lockout ends.

To the naked eye, he doesn't look like he gained weight, which is what I meant by the "he looks fine" comment. Unlike someone like a Byfuglien.

In a 48-game schedule, there'll be no play between conferences. East plays East and West plays West. But here's the schedule matrix for 48:

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
Each team plays: 4 games vs. two Divisional opponents (8); 5 games vs. two divisional opponents (10); 3 games vs 10 Conference rivals (30).

Hope the 5 games are Montreal and Toronto.

What's the point of getting married if you can't let yourself go a bit, dammit! :sarcasm:

I'd rather see Buffalo than Toronto now that they have a "tougher" roster. I have a feeling those games could start to look like the Boston-Dallas games of years past.

I thought about that. But Seguin dominates Toronto, so I want the extra game against them. Plus I think Buffalo's going to get dirty and throw some cheap shots, so I don't want to give them more chances to do that.

Toronto is free wins. I'll take them and Montreal.

I cautiously concur with your cocky attitude

There's no doubt that one of the divisional opponents with whom the Bruins play 5 times will be the Canadiens.

And with the Kessel/Seguin storyline (now with more Dougie!™), I don't doubt that the other team will be Toronto either.

EDIT - assuming that the NHL is trying to get the most amount of revenue possible. Seems automatic that those would be the two teams in which we play an extra game.

Nice! More roster spots for North American players

Yep, let those Euros play in their "recreational leagues" (quote from the Bruins Board), so farmboy Joe McNumptie from Buttcreek, Sasketchewan will get his guaranteed NHL roster spot, too.

This surely would elevate the level of play to formerly unknown exorbitant levels!

Man, if I read stuff like this I sure do hope Chara will pull a Visnowsky over the next couple of days too

 That was me, can't believe you're still mad about that.

Compared to the NHL they are rec leagues. Even more so now with all the good players leaving for the superior league.
