2012- ATD -End of the World Draft- Sign Up Thread!

Perhaps, something we should have discussed BEFORE starting the signup thread ...

I'm fine with hobnob participating because he didn't missed a beat in the A - draft which is a 3 picks a day draft drafting weak players , so I don't think drafting a superstar player every 3 days will be a problem for him.If other rookies start to enter and nobody knows about them or if they are trustworthy , we should just force them to co-gm with a veteran kind enough to take them.

To be honest I think Leaf Lander didn't think about this when he opened it , he just figured since the ATD was starting soon might as well start the sign-ups.The first post should have a couple of rules and criterias in it that's for sure.

There's also the fact this ATD is severely lacking in leadership , nobody wants to take charge. If nobody wants to be the commissionner , we need to select a couple of guys that will basically be the committe of the draft , probably the same guys on the trade-veto committe.

If he was trustworthy in the A draft, I definitely wouldn't mind him in the ATD.

What are the chances he is another VanI clone? :D

I don't see why we need a commissioner, to be honest. What does a commissioner do? Start the threads, evaluate trades, and count votes. We're already having a trade review committee. Anyone who has done the ATD before can post the threads (once we decide on the rules) and the mods can help edit the original post. Finding people to collect the votes was never a problem.

If someone wants to step up and do everything, that's fine with me. But I think we're okay without it. It's not like we haven't done this before.

I suggest temporarily closing this thread to complete the rules and criterias but this need to be done this week.

The trade review committee should start having some names in it.Who will be part of it?

i will be Ak Bars Kazan.

The Halifax Mooseheads will return.

Part of me wants a co-gm due to the work load I'll have in tax season this year, but I'm not sure yet. I'll wait and see how the numbers play out.

I said in the first post

..policies of the draft to be decided.
Draft Commish up for grabs!

it is a intent to join the atd draft. Discuss issues that are still being decided in the other thread ty

Also it was almost 2012 we should have our sign up thread everything else will fall into place

I think the Pittsburgh Bankers are gonna give it another shot. My time is very limited right now so I might bring in a co-gm to help me out.

Excellent idea.If you guys are very busy please try to find a co-gm as it's gonna slow the draft when it could have been avoided.

I'm going to find out what it's like to sleep in the months of February through May.

I can't believe that after 24 consecutive drafts I'm saying this, but.... I am out.

Might consider joining up with someone, but without hfboards at work, I would be little more than a silent partner to them, a consultant to bounce ideas off of.

This is bad news , hope you reconsider.

u seriously lost sleep?

what about a window where we can all pick 6-8 hrs when we are asleep thus stopping the draft clock if we haven't sent a list to a list taker.

ops wrong thread

No, I don't "lose sleep" as in laying awake at night worrying about the draft... nothing like that.

And in case that was the point of the rest of your post, no, it wasn't the deadlines, either.

I just put too much time into the main draft. I go back and forth on who I am going to pick, and it takes hours to make a pick. Some of my better bios can take as many as 10 hours work and they probably all take a minimum of 5, all things considered. The only way to have time in my already busy life and do the ATD, is to seriously sacrifice sleep. I did it as a labour of love for 4 months last year and held it all together, but I doubt my ability to do that again for three reasons:

- I have to wake up even earlier than before now (1.5 hours), for my wife to get me to work before she goes to work,

- maybe I don't have the same atd passion now that my hard work finally manifested itself in victory

- I could try to half-ass it, but I tried to half-ass the last two drafts and I was just more involved than ever before. It is not in my nature to put half my ass into something. So avoiding it altogether is the solution.

I will still be here to provide feedback and commentary, and the minor leage drafts will be how I get my drafting fix.

You could just not make 10000 word essays on every guy you draft this time ;)

to those who have private messaged asking for a co-GM, my lack of reply is simply me weighing my options. I have nothing against any of you. I still don't know if I want to do it at all, and haven't really even considered what factors will go into deciding who I team with.
