The PA got their way on the final issues. The NHL owners backed off. Just like in the NBA.

$64.3M cap for 13-14

Contract limits are 7 years for a free agent and 8 years for your own player

And here I thought waking up at 6am on Sunday would suck so bad.. Nothing like waking up to some great news!

Drop the puck! LGR!

Before the lockout,Cam Fowler and John Carlson signed new contracts. Fowler had 1 year left in entry level. He got 5 years/$20M. Carlson was a group II without arb rights. $3.8M in his non-arb year. $4M per for 5 years. 6 years. $23.8M. Look at Del Zotto in reference to those players. The systems didn't change. Even the 13-14 cap is set at 11-12 level. DZ is six months away from salary arbitration.

I just knew if they were going past 5am a deal would be reached. Now here is to hoping opening night is on my bday jan 15th. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everybody as our NY and Christmas doesn't come until we got our hockey which we got now! Cheers!

Oh yeah and it is even better now I can really be "home" on our board here with my fellow HFNYR diehards as the main board gets intolerable at times lol. I feel like an 8 year old girl at a nsync concert.

YEA BABY! LGR!

I wonder how much the players who didn't play anywhere during the lockout are now afraid of the first practice under Tortorella, to find out they are still a bit out of shape.

So what do we know about the deal?

$70.2 cap this year, $64.3 next. Two compliance buyouts.
10 year CBA with mutual opt out after 8.
7 year contract limits, 8 for your own players.
Same definition of HRR.

Anything else?

Arbitration still in the system. No more re-entry waivers. There's also the variance percentage but I'm not sure exactly what it is.

A lot of details yet to be leaked due to time.

I'm never gonna forget staying up til 5AM on a Sunday morning to find out the lockout is over. So beyond thrilled right now. Let's go Rangers!

You guys could have just listened to me instead of staying up all night every night.

It's back. Just in time after the JWC too... FINALLY.

Bettman announced it don't get any more real than that boys

Haha GarretJoseph I remember reading that the other night and thinking that's probably accurate.

Christmas come late but better late than never.

You're neglecting RB's post. MDZ will get more than that. And don't we need to re-sign McDonagh? Or is that after next year?
