2009 Born for the 2025 OHL DRAFT

pretty sure I know the answer is that we lose pick but just want to confirm.

Hypothetically speaking if the fronts were to pick some guy who doesn’t wanna come to the OHL or play for them with the 9th selection. Do they lose that pick or what happens to it?

They aren’t entitled to defected player compensation for the comp picks. That would mean they would still retain the rights to the player and could trade the player but they wouldn’t get a comp 1st.

I assume they could still declare the player defected and trade his rights in that same window but I am not sure about it. They may have to wait until Jan1.

nothing. You trade him but can’t get the comp pick

They lose it is my understanding.

I’m very confident that it will be

1. Mcgregor
2. Wysiak
3. Chitaroni

After that 80 percent confident in
4. Lammans
5. Deslile
6. Warren
If he falls that far- fronts will happily take Murata and Mann will hopefully coach the kid to be less lazy (but look at how that has worked for Miedema lol)

I’ll give you 5 names here and you rank them from what you’ve seen best to worst please…

1- Ryerson Edgar
2- Noah Laus
3- Keaton Ardagh
4- Jeremy Freeman
5- Landon Jackman

I had the same feeling about #3 and Ottawa taking Brock when I saw his dad pretty chummy looking with Ottawa scout (both from the Sault, at least for much of Brock's significant playing time prior to Barrie) at OHF's when I passed by.

the ohfs? Wouldn’t that be like 2 years ago?

he was on the best team in Ontario surrounded by the best players and barely a point a game. His compete is poor. He is Miedema all over again, it’s great comparison
I remember in the past something came up about Miedema and you said he has all the talent in the world but just does not work hard and remembered that lol

I don’t really know any of the draftees comparisons but I’m hoping the fronts either take Laus (on a great team, tied for OHL cup scoring lead and on a historically great club like JRC) or Jackman (6’3 190 2ppg but with some very talented players around him)

Got comparisons for Laus and/or Jackman?

Also just thinking but honestly I could see Kingston drafting Murata if he makes it to 9. Reason being: obviously lots of upside if he changes his habits and fronts have a 2nd 1st round pick

Could someone please take a shot at predicting the first round as they see it. I understand the boards do not want a posting that requires a paid subscription anything close would be appreciated. Thank you

If you are looking for high end skill and talent that isn't what you are going to get with Laus.

other names that could be 1st round picks (no gaurintees)

raynor, kulemin, roberts, ardagh, kunopaski, green, edgar, aucoin, reznik, perreault, cabral, bergeron, roscoe, barch

there was a team that was going to take reznik in the 1st but they backed off it seems.

i also believe that the top 6 are still fairly locked in, but could change over the next 24-48 hours.

Somewhat surprised that Bergeron did not make the NTDP squad, but his skating is a legitimate concern. Would be surprised to see him go in the 1st. I really really like Aucoin and he should have at the very least, earned an invite to the NTDP camp and feel he definitely has the talent to go in the 1st. Can't see Barch going in the 1st if he made the NTDP.
