2009 Born for the 2025 OHL DRAFT

Obviously a long way from 1st so I assume there isn’t as much talk about it but any idea about some players Kingston would be looking into at 9th overall?

But at that point you take him, deal him later to OS for picks AND get the comp pick. Or would they be afraid OS wouldn't play ball/don't want to take that chance?
I think Owen Sound would probably be pretty happy about the possibility to end up with pick #3 and #5 of the 09 class in addition to picks #6 and #7 in the 08 class. Fits with their window. They would need to recoup those picks involved in a deal to obtain pick #3 in another transaction though.

if they like delisle and chitarini very close, then it may not be worth the drama and just take the 3a rated prospect vs the 3 rated prospect.

another wrinkle in the ottawa pick is that delisle may not want to go there now, so chitaroni is a name that is appearing there as well.

I think Ottawa needs to take him regardless. If he is a defected player then so be it. I think there is too much of a gap between the two players for Ottawa to reach back for Chitaroni. They are better off with the 5th pick next year and the picks package.

With how badly Ottawa has been beaten in recent playoffs with a smaller roster, I cannot see them reach back to draft a tiny player. I really think they will focus on at least average sized players with a preference toward bigger players.

honestly, there is a gap, but its not as much as what some online guys make it sound. i think chitaroni is more valued then warren is in the draft right now as an example.

I understand what you are saying. Ottawa NEEDS a centre in a bad way. But, I am not sure they want to go that direction when they need another small skilled playmaker type player like they need a hole in the head. I think situationally, the player fits the mould of the Ottawa 67s but I think they are making an effort to break that mould. As much as they needed a centre last year as well, they went with a bigger winger (Amidovski) than someone like Headrick.

It will be an interesting decision but there is also a part of me that would suggest if they draft a defected player (AGAIN) for the 3rd time in six years, it will look really bad on this management group.

the other side of it is i dont know how many agents and kids want to play for cameron. Amidovski, i didnt love him last year, but only got about 8 - 8:30 minutes last year. plus, hes very old school. old school is good but it needs to have some new school in it

Amidovski had injury issues. Ottawa also had a big log jam on LW. IMO, you should prioritize your 1st pick but with Cameron being old school, he requires players to first earn their ice time. We saw the same issue with Ekberg. By the end of the seaosn, both looked pretty good and I imagine they will be poised for breakout season’s next year.

Selfishly, I would prefer the defected player route because if Cameron is in his last year, I’d rather the incoming guy get the two early picks to start with. But, again, I cannot see Boyd rolling the dice much with this pick. That said, if he is handcuffed into picking the player that is effectively the #6 or #7 player at #3, that is going to look REALLY bad as well. I’m not sure there is a winning option here if Delisle won’t report.

I think this goes back to an earlier conversation about players picking their spots. Is he really going to play in the USHL if Ottawa calls his bluff? And if he doesn’t, then do you want a player that prefers to be elsewhere? These are all issues referred to when the NCAA deal was ratified. Will payers lose bargaining power or does it remain the same? I think this potential Delisle wrinkle will give us an answer. If Delisle end sup in OWen Sound, the NCAA rule will not have had any impact on players managing their draft positions.

for me chitaroni is a 4/5 overall pick. murata is not nearly as good as hyped and is falling for a reason, he has zero compete and his numbers are low. warren doesnt fit ottawa personally i dont believe .

i wouldnt be all that upset with chitaroni, i think he has passed alot of those hyped players.

Why is Warren falling? I understand Murata dropping a bit for the reasons you mention above, but hasn't Warren produced at the U16 level the past two seasons? Is it primarily a size or attitude concern?

is Chitaroni bigger than Murata?

Delisle is listed 6.01 on OHL Cup Site and Chitaroni 5.11; Murata 6.00…

they all looked the same to me? I need to get my eyes checked!

chitaroni is almost as big as murata, but his production is light years ahead of it and chitaroni plays hard, murata goes for skates.

i dont know if hes falling per say, he was always more the bottom of that top 4 group i think, chitaroni had a great second half as well.

WOW. Chitaroni has gown a lot then. Eliteprospects has him at 5”8” 130. If he is 5’11” now then that changes things a little. He isn’t as small as thought. That definitely brings him up a bit in the rankings.

Wants to play with his bro in Owen sound.

McGregor
Wycisk
Chitaroni
Lammens
Delisle
Called this weeks ago about Delisle. Can 100% see it happening. Not like he will be going to London at end of first round. There’s a bunch of great players and if he slips a spot or two it won’t be the end of the world. Makes perfect sense with Owen sound.

In going through some of the comments on this forum, you guys really know what your talking about and I may retire and leave it to you moving forward. Thanks again for everything, and I apologize to anyone if they were offended by my questions. god bless.

The HF elites got to you eh? Don’t let it bother you. Post as you wish. There are people who appreciate it.

How far can Murata / Warren realistically slide? I can't image Warren later than 6 and Murata later than 10 but who knows with this draft

This sounds good for Soo Greyhound fans. Warren or Murata at 7 seems like a big win.

pretty sure I know the answer is that we lose pick but just want to confirm.

Hypothetically speaking if the fronts were to pick some guy who doesn’t wanna come to the OHL or play for them with the 9th selection. Do they lose that pick or what happens to it?
