Are there any players that seem to be in the London Knight mold? Anyone that could fall a bit or is it too early to say?

We’ll need to wait to see which of the top 5-10 players are choosing to play in the USHL before we can find the player the Knights will draft.

But the question is with the new rules will any players even drop? I feel like players cannot use the NCAA card anymore

I think this will be the first year we see a true draft. Knights/Rangers will have to actually draft players where they should because the leverage of not reporting is gone, IMO.

That’s fair. Scouting will be paramount. I think these teams will have to be creative to find the top end talent

I’m not too sure about that and even if I am wrong, there will be defected players available that London can acquire for a picks package. It may be more difficult for a player to drop as far as before but if there is an American kid clearly capable of USNTDP that is top-10 rated, that player should be a prime target for a team like the Knights.

In light of the new rules, will it be harder (or more unlikely ) for a prospect to play the "college card" to avoid being drafted by an OHL team that he doesn't want to report to?
Previously, expressing a desire to play in the BCHL or the USHL before trotting off to US college hockey was a legitimate path to take.
I suppose it's still not ruled out but more unlikely is my question.
After all, you can play in the O and still fulfill a wish to play NCAA.

bennett is from ottawa i think,

there is one name that ive heard will come to the league and is regarded as a top 5/10 talent. im sure there are more.
I'm guessing it's somebody from Little Caesars since Sting owner David Legwand coaches their team. Is it Landon Jackman out of the St. Louis area?

USNTDP camp happens March 18-23 and last year they announced the team on Thursday April 10th

This team announcement should be the day before the OHL priority draft.....I would expect a few OHL scouts will be in attendance at camp in Plymouth.
I would imagine that players not named to US U-17 team will interested in coming to the OHL.

OHL camps should be quite competitive heading into next season.

I haven't seen anyone either than YSE play twice just by luck of being from the area but if Ryerson Edgar isn't an extremely high pick in this draft teams will very much regret it in the coming years.

Basically I would be shocked if there were 5 kids better than him. He's better than some kids playing in the OHL right now.
there are 5 better players. All due respect I’m not sure if you’ve seen everyone enough to know he’s better than them.

I find he has amazing games and very quiet games, not overly aggressive which is what teams want.

I have seen plenty of OHL games. I'd take him over some 4th line guys in the league right now no question.

I'll take your word on there being 5 guys better than him in this draft because I have no knowledge of the age group, but he will be successful in the OHL 100%

of course he’s better then 4th line guys the OHL I think 20 09s are right now, just as 20/30 08s weee better last year.

You watch him 15/20 times in a year and there are styles and characteristics that make you wonder. Lots of fancy skill but lots of games where he’s quite and doesn’t battle or complete like lost teams want, but he will be a top 10/15 guy. Lots of divided options on him

Interesting. Like I said I have seen him twice, and actually for a third time yesterday. they were down 5-0 and sure he isn't as greasy competing in the corners as you'd like, but he had compete in the sense that he kept on attacking over and over despite the score. His game translates into the O for me every day,

Delisle is coveted in the top 2 become he’s a 2025 type of player. Heavy hard with lots of skill. Thats kind of the players that teams are all over right now. I’ll give someone like Warren credit he’s not mean per say, but he has decent compete.

Is there is a consensus top 5 you can share yet? Seems like a lot of fluctuation this year

Like I said I have never seen those kids play, I know the names from being in here but can't agree or disagree with your opinions on them. If you use last years draft as a measuring tool- Brady Smith at 6th overall for example or even Wassilyn at 4- These kids are pretty similar to Edgar. Not overly big, not physical and I think from the small sample size I've seen Edgar has a better IQ for the game offensively.

Wasslyn isn’t comparable. Wasslyn is 5’11 - 194 and powers though guys. Edgar is 5’9/152. Almost 50lbs difference.

Brady smith went 19th to Oshawa and i think he’s got more talent but had zero complete level. He had top 5/10 talent all day but never applied it consistently. Edgar would be comparable in that sense but smith was a shooter vs Edgar is an inconsistent play maker
