2009 Born for the 2025 OHL DRAFT

I won't. I'm hoping he'll be there at 7.
Like I said before I have not seen all of the top guys and the ones I have (Warren twice and Murata once) i'm not understanding why he isn't in the mix with those two but it would be to your benefit. if you want a guy who isn't afraid to take on defenders you will be super happy with him.

What great forward players will be available after the big 6? Soo fan hear.looking for candidates at 7th overall. Thanks
it could be anyone is the thing. I wound think they hope one of the 6 I mentioned fall to them, and they may.

here’s what I’ll say on edgar. and this my opinion but also an industry thought as well. he’s got top 5 talent no doubt, the struggle is it’s always the easy areas of the ice. Would he be a Florida panther or Boston bruin? no way, and that’s where hockey is headed. he would fit it with prime Kyle Dubas maple leafs. He reminds me of soo alumni salinitri.

I think the Soo would love Daley but we’ll have to see if he’s gone to the program or not. I did t even think it was a remote chance given he wasn’t invited to the 15s this summer and his dad legit issues with vanviesbrook but here we are

i think both are 2nd round picks, but after say 10 or 11 anyone could go between 12 and 40 so itll be the wild wild west

for what its worth ive heard that sarnia covets reznik with their second round pick.
I’d love if the Petes could get Lappalainen with one of their 2nds! We need as much offensive upside as possible AND he has a cool name lol

Does anyone know when the US NTDP rosters typically get announced?
It's typically the Wednesday after USA Hockey Nationals finish up. This year, Nattys are April 1-6, so I'd expect April 9 this year.

But as you probably know, the roster's already set. OHL teams likely already know who's been selected and who's accepted the invite.

We have been successful with some Alliance picks with character, skill and grit with Martin, Solomon and Charron. Would Barch be a reach at 7th? Thinking this Lapalainen kid also might be a good fit with our 2nd 1st rounder. Also Gary Roberts son might be a good fit as well, do these kids fall in this range or are there better options with our first 2 picks?

Saw Barch at OHL cup against team NOHA (who played well for their 1st game playing together) he was impressive but these 3 will likely go in the late teens / 20's as there are quite a few that the Hounds should take prior at #7, so maybe at #19. Hounds need size who can skate in a big way, they like other teams seem to chase kids who have gotten some junior points on stronger teams (even if mid to low in points on their team, teams well coached or with other strong players) and not look for size / skills necessary for top level junior play.

Why would they draft US 07's and 06's rather than signing as free agents? Is it to retain the rights long term or are they not FA's? Can you please explain for the uneducated.

they cant sign anyone until next june. once rosters are finalized they cant do anything.

so teams will add players to the draft and just draft them to keep other teams from coming in and signing them. its a balance and a bit of poker, but most of the time a team would rather just use a 4th round pick on the kid vs waiting and hoping another team doesnt approach and sign later on. imagine your sudbury and have a good feel you can sign a kid only to have london come in in may and have the kid change his mind.

Because if you have eyes on a FA american, everyone else does too. Drafting a player increases your odds of singing them. Playing the FA game means you're competing against the higher end teams and most teams don't want to take that gamble.

Great thank you for the explanations.

Appears to be a good thing the Storm has excess picks esp in rounds 1-3. Could help speed up the rebuild.

Anybody got a read on JRC kids Laus and Ardagh? Which is the better prospect and why?

Need bigger bodied forwards with skill and speed on the Soo imo. Who else fits the bill of a great skater with skill and size who plays with an edge that fits in at 7th overall?

top 5 seems to be figured out, just sorting on where... leaves north bay at 6 to do something silly, hopefully not. Whose best chance 6th overall? Chit?
