"He ain't goin' nowhere"

That quote is taken out of context like crazy, remember the rumblings that Ruff would leave and he wanted to give the people what he thought that they'd want?

Ted is the guy calling shots in the hockey department, so I'm not to worried about what TPegs said.

I have no idea what has happened to this team. Every line outside of VHP looks confused, every game they play like they've never met each other before. Absolutely no chemistry at all, and Lindy hasn't even been shuffling the lines as much this year.

Why say "Thomas didn't want to go" what purpose does that serve?

To give you something to rage about.

He said he didn't want to go because he would miss a shift with his line. Give the entire ****ing quote for **** sake.

You have PLENTY of legit things to beat Ruff up with. Why waste energy on nonsense?

So the excuse is 3 games in 4 nights? What was the excuse for last night's debacle?

I said that a few posts ago...still, it's an odd quote.

A big reason is we only have one top 9 NHL center right now. Ennis is a trainwreck and Grigs is a lost kid.

Another reason, why is it that the majority of free agents or players traded here flop?

It's a known fact that a team led by Ruff is a difficult team to obtain chemistry in, yet another example of his incompetence.

Ott-Grigs-Stafford looked offensively dangerous in terms of controlling puck and getting chances in the 1st couple periods.

The problem, as noted in prior posts, is no one is finishing outside of VHP and the d-men they are shifted with. Both other non-grinder lines had chances this game.

Team defense, however, is why they're losing. Althought currently problematic, they're getting enough offense from VHP to have a better outcome than their current record.

Team defense IS the big problem. I saw so much blown coverage today.

Blaming ruff should come after people recognize the reality behind our rebuild.

Rebuild? really?

LOL

Then why go out the past two seasons and sign vets like the aging Regehr and spend big big money on UFA's like Ehrhoff and Leino as well as trading Roy for another veteran player?

This is no rebuild.

Good point.

It seems like a young and inexperienced team to me. That could just be because leino, regehr and Kaleta are out injured.

Yes it's. It's like when you hire some polish people to rebuild your house and the've put in old used walls in your building.

What is ugly is that there's no defence. I believe that is the biggest trouble with the other lines not scoring, if your name is not Gretzky, Lafleur och Lemieux a pass in the level of the knee obviously doesn't create much scoring chances. Other than that, the team as whole can't play defense. They seem passive and sometimes when they try to put pressure on the puckhandler they end up in the middle of nowhere. It looks really ugly out there when the opponents seems to have powerplay in our zone when we are at even strength.

Not to instill fear in the fanbase, but Ruff did allude to the idea that Vanek will not necessarily be able to keep up his pace.......

Can you imagine how things will look if Vanek slows down?

I-carumba.

Good:
-I took my son today and got him one of he autographed hats. He was so stoked that he got one autographed by Pominville. The guy that got one before us had the opposite reaction when he got Leopold's.
-Vanek's hot streak continues.
-I thought that Hodson had a great game.

Bad:
-Sulzer 2 goals ties him for 4th on the team. It's time for guys like Stafford, Foligno, Hecht, Ott, and Grigs to find there way to hit the score sheet.

Ugly:
-Somebody get Ennis and Mueller to a barber.
-My sons mite game was literally more intense and entertaining than what we saw from the Sabres.

Which I doubt he will. He'd finish with 111 points in 47 games.

Then this team really will be headed towards a Top 5 pick...

At the game today. I enjoyed the 1st period. Hated the other two. Towards the end of the third, I tried starting a "Fire Lindy" chant. I had about 4 others around me chanting it as well. Then a chorus of boos came from all around me and I stopped before some a$$ with beer muscles slugged me. Not to mention my wife was a little embarrassed by my chanting. Although she agrees Ruff should be put out to pasture.

I tried.

Gerbe ... Wtf happened to this kid? I understand the surgery thing.. I do. Last year he used to agitate a little, be a sparkplug and zip around and cause turnovers and have a couple scoring chances every game. He just seems soooooo much worse. At this point, maybe try to package him up with someone and ship him out.
Ott ... I expect more out of him. I expect him to be another version of Kaleta but with better hands. He was such a non factor today.

U ... The lack of enthusiasm, will, and drive is overwhelming with most of this line up. I am not pro or anti Ruff, but I truly think it's time for Ruff to find work in another city. And I hope he does well elsewhere.

This sums up my feelings of Ruff. If fired, he'll have a job a day later and I wish him all the best, but were in need for something different.

Ugly: We've lost 6 out of the last 7. That's horrible in a season with 82 games let alone one with 48.

Vanek's play has been a bright spot so far in this fairly dark start. His line is a delight to watch.

 Sometimes this fanbase is like the embodiment of rural America circa mid-1960s when it comes to obsessing over hair length on men.

Obsessed? I don't have an issue with long hair in general. It looks absolutely stupid sticking out of a hockey helmet. It's also a friggin joke.
