Yes and M. Staal has been ok recently - he is not been the issue of late.Staal has been a Ranger for 12 seasons, the average age of this team is like 16 years old, no coach is going to scratch him.
He was actually injuredRyan McDonagh was ‘injured’ right up until he got traded.

This coach needs to play one 2017 first round pick on the 4th line
From what we've seen, Quinn holds guys accountable. Play bad, sit, and come back better. That's not really special, just common sense. AV was the special one when it came to scratching guys.
As for Lias, I think they want him to fight for a place, and then move him up. Essentially what Chytil did. But that's pure speculation.
A wake up call for Skjei. Maybe a Zucc trade is imminentGuess that injury still plagues Zucc, too bad. Was hoping Skjei would cement himself as our top D this season, not slip in and out of form.
Ofc Strome is going to have a 1G 1A night
The best explanationStaal hasn’t made mental mistakes or mistakes from lack of effort or carelessness . That’s why he’s not being benched.
He’s made mistakes but not for the reasons Quinn benches guys.
Cody McLeod can't do anything but play bad and he is in the lineup an awful lot.
Ditto Marc Staal.
It's the same issue AV had - selective accountability.
You said AV and special in the same sentenceFrom what we've seen, Quinn holds guys accountable. Play bad, sit, and come back better. That's not really special, just common sense. AV was the special one when it came to scratching guys.
As for Lias, I think they want him to fight for a place, and then move him up. Essentially what Chytil did. But that's pure speculation.
I think Quinn benches guys because he thinks they can be better. Staal and Mcleod are giving 110%, they just suck. What will benching them do? It can't inspire them to play better. They shouldn't be on the team, but that's a different story.
So basically, I can understand the benchings, what I can't understand is why guys in the A like Beleskey, Nieves, etc. aren't taking the spot of Letteri and Mcleod at this point. It's befuddling.
The 2 teams that I believe to be the strongest and score a majority of goals in front of the net are the Panthers and the Jackets. Not sure what stats are out there, but just what I see.Panthers have been going pretty well lately.
The ass kicking that has eluded this team may finally happen.
It can give better players a chance to play.
Staal's only positive is that he helps them lose.
