Said before I predicted and would have been happy with 4-4-1. After the start we had, the result is a bit of a letdown.

We aren't good enough to cough up these types of positions.

Yeah but most of those points came in the first half of it and we've sucked the big one since then, and considering how much time off they had it feels like they've really shit the bed.
I would hope to occasionally get a point against the top teams ahead of us and the top ones out west but expect them to win the meaningful games against any aspirant wild card teams in our own division. The point is better than nothing but still disappointing considering the opponent.

Refs were garbage all night imo, that first call on brady set the tone and they lived up to it.

Ottawa probably loses before OT if the refs don’t miss that blatant trip with 3 minutes left, though. So it went both ways.

Can probably thank them for the point with how the momentum was swinging.

Then thats where he should be playing.

Any way you shake out the lines it will end uo being a similar outcome.

Stutzle hasn’t played well with Gaudette and Giroux. We are missing too many guys the top 9 can’t keep up we have 4 AHLers on 12 forwards.

No speed on those lines either.

IMO we need a complimentary guy who can be good all around like a Blake Coleman or Connor Garland. Not enough juice in that top 9.

Just take a look at the scheduling for January and tell me we're past the hard part lol.
There’s some tough games/stretches in the season, but nothing like playing 5/8 of the best West teams during a franchise long 9 game road trip.

We have the 5th easiest remaining strength of schedule and 24 home games, including almost all of April. Let’s hope Ullmark can come back soon.

Gaudette better wake up or he'll be odd man out soon when injured guys return. He's only here for one reason.
Gaudette was never going to be a long term answer for this team. He's not good enough in the D and neutral zones to warrant his production in the o-zone.

Someone needs to drill into Stutzle’s head that he can’t be the “playmaker” on his line. He needs to score.

What happened to the guy who scored 39 goals as a 20 year old?

You have to have Giroux out there for the face off. A win wastes 30 seconds and lets you regroup. A loss and you are caved in until they miss.

Can’t have a 50% guy out there when you’ve got a 60+% guy, who also PK’s, on the bench.
Yep. Or Norris. Poor decision earlier or not.

What a garbage hockey team in Ottawa. How long before a cup, another 100 years? The red wings suck, they didn’t play well. Our crappy goaltender actually played pretty good and we can’t beat a .500 team in a huge game, after 4/5 diarrhea performances. Sure everyone thought .500 was the goal on a tough road trip, but when they play well, or maybe the other good teams play bad and we get ahead, can’t beat the beatable teams. Montreal will take our spot and it will be only a few games until we sink to where we belong, the bottom 2/3 of the conference. Pathetic.

I think they've milked all they can out of Gaudette. He has faded considerably

Tkachuk - Pinto - Batherson
Norris - Stützle - Giroux
Gregor - Greig - Cousins
Jenik - Ostapchuk - Gaudette

Stop with the nonsense of Gaudette in the top 6. Load up two lines, make the 3rd a pure checking line, and play the 4th 5 minutes a night.

It's funny because we would have been absolutely ecstatic with that result of the road trip before it started.

I disagree. I think most people came into this thinking we needed a winning record on this road trip if we were gonna make the playoffs. Given how the other teams around the Sens in the standings have been playing, we needed two points tonight, not one.

There's still hope that we can make hay with all the games in hand we have over teams like the Bruins.
