I get the fact that Green would never make his GM look bad by benching or scratching either Eriksson or Sutter, or both....but seems to me by putting them on a checking line with a career minor-leaguer in Archibald he's making a statement.....imagine $10.5m a season tied up in two checking forwards?

If the Canuck braintrust or the pro scouting department isn't embarrassed they should be.....you can only hope that those two contracts will cause these hockey ops people to take a step back in the future, when they're tempted to blow their brains out again with another bad trade/signing.

I mean, Miller only won 18 games in 54 starts last year; how many games could he have possibly stolen?

This Canucks team could learn a thing or two about grit and passion from the women competing for Team Canada in the Olympics. Was surprised at how physical the game between USA and Canada was. Team USA and Team Canada truly hate each other.

Got beat by a real hot goal tender. When the game mattered he was superb. Team effort was good but San Jose showed the ability to manage the game well and their structure was critical in the win. Canucks have a ways to go in terms of team organization.

Sedins played way better and should have scored a couple more. Real nice goal on that three way passing play. That type of goal was all that was going to beat Jones tonight.

Better game out of Pouliot who has looked more engaged in the last few games. Thought his puck movement was good in this game and he did push the offense some without making some critical errors defensively. Bounce back game for Gudbranson who was much better in his end. Edler looked tired and couldn't contribute anything offensively.

Thought it was tough game for Stecher and you could see that the Sharks really focused on going after him in his end and going hard to the net on him. Sharks do a good job of exploiting weaknesses on other teams. Also Del Zotto had trouble in his own end.

Think it was one of Boeser's worse games. Step slow all night. Another who looked a little tired. Boucher showed ok at times but play in his own end not good enough.

Goldobin always does some good things and really thinks the offense well. However, never seems totally in sync with line mates. In the first made a nice little pass to Horvat and then opened up for return pass. Horvat shot and got stopped. Had he moved it back to Goldobin, Goldobin had a wide open net. Goldobin needs a player that thinks the game way he does. Probably be the same with Petterson. Just like Gretzky needed a Kurri type player so every creative player needs a person who can get on the same wave length. As it is, Goldobin just can't seem to effectively use the talent he does have.

Archibald started the game strong but then faded. Thought Eriksson was better but Sutter is getting next to nothing done. Having a very poor season and is dead weight offensively.

Dowd looked like waiver wire stuff.

Miller was subpar and Markstrom is subpar. Markstrom for backup next year. We need an upgrade at this position.

I’m just curious when I should expect the sorrys to roll in. Over a month ago I stated (when they were about even) that Barzal was a better player than Boeser and almost everyone said “no he’s not” etc.

Now that he’s 13 points (and counting) ahead and Brock hasent scored an ES point since the last changing of the Pope, just curious who will own up to me being right ?
