Houston has things. The sports scene is decent even though the teams always suck... NASA... you're close to the beach in Galveston where the fishing is quite good. They've got great hockey beer leagues there, a great indoor soccer scene, an amateur Aussie Rules football team. Also they have plenty of shooting ranges. And the food scene is as diverse as LA or NYC.
I just wouldn't want to live there because of the freaking humidity. I live in the Fort Worth near Dallas and absolutely love it. I've got Stars and Mavs season tickets for 1/3 the price of NYR and NYK season tickets in better seats. Fort Worth just got an NLL expansion team and you bet I'm going to go to all the games.

I wonder what his work ethic is as a pro. I played hockey against him and ran track and his work ethetic as a teen was incredible.

It’s supposedly fantastic. I think the only reason Seguin has seemingly fallen off in recent seasons has been due to a lot of injuries and surgeries. From everything I’ve seen and heard (having lived in Dallas for a while) he’s grown up into a really good professional, leader, etc. who has a tremendous work ethic.
