Pre-Game Talk: 1st Round - Battle of Ontario - Toronto Maple Leafs vs Ottawa Senators

Toronto media is insane right now.

I'm pretty sure Jeff O'Neill, Carlo Colaiacovo, and Bryan Hayes are the same person.

I'm still trying to figure out the difference between Chris Johnston and Sam Cosentino.
That Sammy guy on Kipper and Bourne is the worst. Kipper has to keep telling him to simmer down, it’s a National show right now, leafs was last hour.
2 or 3 times yesterday lol. It was fun listening to Kipper and Bourne tell him his takes were bad.

Poop telling Dung "You stink". Perfect.

Crazy that my extras in the 3rd bowl that I secured a month ago for a pair came in at 507$ for the whole 1st round.

The whole point of being a Sens fan is for the playoffs , and what better matchup. If you are selling these tickets , there is literally no point in being a fan. And you are the worst kind of lowlife fan. Sorry to say , but I am not surprised .

Leafs have to be heavily favoured, let’s face it. They score more and allow less. Well coached . Doesn’t mean we can’t surprise them but this is about our players gaining tremendous experience and very little pressure on us

For us fans, our reward for years of incompetent management and poor roster construction is being delivered on Sunday. All that matters right now is that we get to watch playoff hockey again.

I'll be disappointed if we don't make it out of the 1st round, but I won't be upset. What's there to be upset about when we have already met or surpassed expectations for the season?

Whatever the outcome, my expectations for next year have grown substantially, and I expect the same from the players that will be back. If the floor this year was playing meaningful hockey down the stretch, next year its locking a WC or the #3 spot up a lot earlier than we did this year.

Man I don't know about you but once you're in the playoffs anything can happen. My expectations are sky high.

Nobody in the east scares me honestly and I can't think of one team that would sweep us.

The Sens terminated over 100 accounts on the basis that they were out of town scalpers.

If it's not 90/10 sens fans than the org has failed imo. The commotion made about this was amplified in the media and if they aren't successful it would be embarassing.
where'd you get the info on the account termination?

Leafs are not only soft but they are chokers!

Not saying we are gonna win the series but you couldn’t ask for a better matchup!

What's the cheapest legal way for me to watch round 1 from the Belleville area?

I have no subscriptions other than Amazon.

I think all of the games will be on CBC HNIC so i would say getting an antenna. If those are still a thing? I was looking at getting one myself.

90/10 is unrealistic despite even the best efforts.

I think anything over 70-30 is a win for us I’m expecting 75-25 so basically 3 sens fan for every leaf fans

As a long time sens fan you should know playoff hockey is not like regular season hockey. This teams construction while inexperienced has the ingredients of a very good playoff team. Clearly the sens are dogs and thats good, this leafs team has underperformed and has all the pressure in the world on them. Sens need to embrace that and play their game.

75-25 would make for a louder building than 90-10 id be willing to bet. Id be very happy with anything 70-30 or above.

OTA antennas are still a thing - Belleville should be able to pick up the CBC channel.

Cost of entry is around $30 or so - and that's just a simple multidirectional antenna. Amplified antennas cost more but give you a stronger signal that reaches farther - Belleville can probably pick up most of the stations out of NY.

I used OTA for years in Ottawa - granted, I was around 100ft up in an apartment that had a clear line of sight to the OTA tower in the Gatineaus - but I was very happy with the quality of signal I was receiving at the time with an OTA kit I got from Lee Valley.
